Speedy Deletions

If you think pages need to be deleted, simply list them on Project:Votes for deletion. Wikivoyage does not have a speedy deletion policy. Often it is quicker to make the page a redirect or orphan the page, list on Project:Votes for deletion and then replace the contents with {{vfd}}. There is no need to discuss it on the talk page if it is simply graffiti; a simple explanation on Project:Votes for deletion is enough. Maps and Shanghai

There's a sort of a HOW-TO for my mapmaking technique on Image_talk:Paris.svg. I've been meaning to move it over to User:(WT-en) Mark/Maps and generalise it a bit more. Hopefully it will help. The main thing is that you really need to use an illustration program like Inkscape, rather than the GIMP.

Meanwhile, I'll try to do some stuff with the Shanghai page, although I think I've mostly added all the stuff I know about. I guess I can provide a bit of advice about arriving by air though, so I'll do that. -- (WT-en) Mark 16:08, 8 Apr 2005 (EDT)

Safety

Glad you liked the Taipei article. Actually, many of the cities in the Far East don't have rough, dangerous areas - blue colar, yes - but not dangerous. Besides Taipei, Tokyo and most Japanese cities, Singapore and even H.K. and Bangkok don't have any no-go areas. Maybe you should include East Asia in future travel plans.

Well, I'll be going to HK as part of my journey around China, I also wanted to visit a friend in Burma (Myanmar) but I just don't have the time (or money!).

deleting GuyGuide info!!!

I dont understand why gayguide should not be part of the template for all cities instead of being just a part of smaller set of information? Gaypopulation has particular interest in certain bars, clubs, gay-friendly accomodation/restaurants places and is usually suffering from homophobia in many even western countries (unless thay are instructed where to be open about their identity and where to be more private).

I've put up a message on the Traveller's Pub, let the community decide. IMO I don't think a whole section is needed for every type of person: Most people need the same things: A place to sleep eat etc. What people do in public is restricted in various ways whatever their gender or sexuality etc... My response to this is also at the Traveller's Pub. Please do not feel guilty about following policy. If the article templates do not have a section then that section can be removed, or added to the template after discussion. Any relevant information (not text) that might be removed should appear elsewhere in the article, probably in a more relevant place anyway. Besides, separating out the information for a particular interest group may mean it is not available for use, or may be ignored, by others who could also benefit from that same information. -- (WT-en) Huttite 18:29, 16 Apr 2005 (EDT)
