Hello, 72.201.2.138! Thank you for contributing to Wikivoyage, but please note that one or more of your recent edits has been reverted as it appeared to be an attempt to use this site to advertise or promote a business or service. Wikivoyage is created by travellers for travellers, and while business owners and employees are welcome to contribute, use of this site for promotional purposes is not allowed.

If you feel that your edits were incorrectly identified as promotional, please read Wikivoyage's guidelines on identifying promotional edits. If, after reading that guideline, you still feel your edits were incorrectly removed, please use this talk page or the talk page of the article where your edit was removed to explain why your change was not promotional. Note that it is very important that you discuss your proposed change before re-adding it since repeated promotional edits can lead to a temporary block of your account's ability to edit Wikivoyage, and in serious cases the business in question may be blacklisted from Wikivoyage.

What did I do that was worth a block? —The preceding comment was added by 72.201.2.138 (talkcontribs)
You ignored the message above and edit summaries and kept on violating the don't tout policy. I will unblock you, but make sure you read the don't tout page carefully and look at welcome, business owners before you make any new edits. Ikan Kekek (talk) 00:44, 21 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I do not believe this: "710 Beach rentals offers condos in these locations ... our rentals come in these types ... is "touting"" I would consider that explaining what the business does. I do agree "visit our site" might be, but I believe I took that out the second time. W/o that line I do not believe that violates Wikivoyages guidelines, which I have now read. Would you care to elaborate? —The preceding comment was added by 72.201.2.138 (talkcontribs)
Certainly, and thanks for asking. I hope you don't mind that I moved your post to the end to make it easier to follow the thread. Here was the problem:
"More information can be found on our website."
This isn't gross touting, but it showed that you hadn't read the don't tout page, or at least hadn't absorbed the fact that "our" isn't used in listings on this site. Also, any information that the reader needs should be in the listing, or else they can use the URL link without prompting; the whole point in providing the URL is that readers can find information there, so this isn't stated in Wikivoyage listings (sorry if that seems pedantic). Finally, there's a non-touting issue: San Diego California 92109 is left out of addresses; only the street address is provided, though that might change at some point (the place to discuss changing that policy is Wikivoyage talk:Listings). -Okay, I can understand that. So if I remove the prompt, and remove the city, state, zip can I repost?

Yes. Just one more thing: On talk pages (like this one, not in destination articles), please sign your posts by typing 4 tildes (~) in a row at the end. Ikan Kekek (talk) 09:01, 25 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sure thing. Thanks for the help and information! ~Jake Levine

You're welcome. Thanks for discussing things. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:44, 26 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

First block[edit]

You've amply earned your first block, for a day. The next block will be for 3 days, then 2 weeks, then 3 months, but then you're not reading here, anyway. Ikan Kekek (talk) 22:54, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
