Thanks for your edits on many destinations! They are much appreciated. Globe-trotter (talk) 22:45, 15 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

It'd be useful to have an article or few about services and things (like municipalities or historical countries) that don't exist anymore.

[edit]

To have an alphabetical list of services and things that no longer exist would be a way to honor those who entrepreneured in the field of travel and hospitality and didn't quite hack it. Here is an example of what I mean Jukeboksi (talk) 21:28, 28 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

That would be a very long list. Do you have a cutoff date in mind?--Auric (talk) 21:31, 28 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
If it is too long it can be split into many articles Places that no longer exist, Lodging that no longer exist, Restaurants that no longer exist etc. etc. Jukeboksi (talk) 21:35, 28 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
That would help, somewhat.--Auric (talk) 21:36, 28 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
You two may be interested in the article about Ghost towns. Shops and services that don't exist anymore and have no traces that can be visited are totally off-topic for a travel guide, though. Ikan Kekek (talk) 23:20, 28 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
Already on it: Jussarö is a mining ghost town on the Jussarö island south of Ekenäs. The only one in Finland. Jukeboksi (talk) 23:24, 28 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
There's also Historical travel which includes subtopics like the long-lost Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, as well as old towns and archaeological sites. K7L (talk) 01:26, 29 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
