Welcome![edit]

Hello, BeatriceT! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. sats (talk) 14:59, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked indefinitely: March 2013[edit]

You have been blocked indefinitely for making nonconstructive edits to this project. If you believe this was not the case or feel you want to contribute constructively in the future, please add to your talk page the following text {{User:Snowolf/AppealBlock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} obviously replacing "Your reason here" with the reasons you feel you should be unblocked for.

Puzzle[edit]

I'm puzzled about the reference to Snowolf and the zero contributions recorded at Special:Contributions/BeatriceT.

If there is something secret about this that should not be revealed in public, please e-mail me. -- Alice 04:05, 4 March 2013 (UTC)

Snowolf created standard welcome/vandalism/block templates that I use. I deleted this user's only contribution: their spammy excuse of a userpage. There are no secrets, and I don't know why you'd assume there are. In the case I had hidden certain edits, due to extremely obscene language or revealing of identity, you wouldn't have the right to view it, nor would any other user. Thanks for the rapid explanation, James.
I didn't make the assumption that there was something secret going on here, I just wanted to cover that possibility in advance to avoid too much to-ing and fro-ing and waste less of your time.
It might be better if standard welcome/vandalism/block templates were created in Project namespace to avoid any further confusion by nincompoops like me.
I'm still puzzled as to why the creation of "their spammy excuse of a userpage" is not able to be seen at Special:Contributions/BeatriceT. That log (at the time of my signature) does not show any contributions whatsoever! Is there a bug with that log or is this user an "un-person" in the Orwellian sense?
I'm also puzzled as to the indefinite block "with an expiry time of indefinite (account creation disabled)" if there is no history of previous vandalism or delinquency. Their user page really must have been pretty outrageous? -- Alice 20:37, 4 March 2013 (UTC)
