Hello Cameroon121! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.

If you are a Wikipedian then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:

It may also be very useful for you to check out Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians. If you need help, take a look at Wikivoyage:Help, or else post a message in the travellers' pub or on my talk page. Thanks for contributing! However, look at a map, realize the border between Cameroon and Nigeria, and please desist of ignoring it. Thanks, Ibaman (talk) 20:09, 18 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

"Northern Cameroon" which translates to "Le Grand-Nord" in French in my country, is a GEOPOLITICAL phrase of the three regions of Adamawa, the North and Far North Region coined by our first president due to the Islamic administrative structure of the Fulbe chieftancies. Moreover, most of the information published on Cameroon's wikivoyage is very inaccurate. Adamawa region is administratively and socially recognised as one of the regions of Northern Cameroon, and the region you refer to as "Northwest Highlands" is actually called "CAMEROON GRASSFIELDS".

I won't bother you about how many new users come to Wikivoyage and want to impose "their" preferred subdivision about their country, because all Wikivoyage users and admins don't know nothing about history and geography etc etc etc etc etc. No.

this is a COLLABORATIVE travel guide, more than 10 years old, we all spend countless hours discussing things and genetating consensus. You don't get to enter here shouting "YOU MUST ADAPT CAMEROON TO MY SUBDIVIDING SCHEME, BECAUSE!!". No, you go to Talk:Cameroon, you propose a change, you discuss the change, you try to achieve consensus, then AND ONLY THEN you make your edits.

Next time you try to edit war about the regions of Cameroon, you will be treated as a vandal who is not here to build a travel guide. Please, with cherries on top, read policy, and comply. Ibaman (talk) 10:59, 19 October 2020 (UTC)Reply

How about YOU DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE spewing rubbish on a country or countries you know NOTHING ABOUT. Do YOUR RESEARCH so that this platform can be more reliable.

DO YOUR RESEARCH! The edits are useless if proper commitment for research is disregarded. —The preceding comment was added by Cameroon121 (talkcontribs)

You came here to help us, right? So great, and thanks! Just have a little patience in dealing with the wiki ways of consensus. It's up to people who want to make these kinds of substantive changes in organization to show the rest of us evidence. None of us is resistant to corrections; we just want to see that they are accurate and reflect the actual situation on the ground. Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:51, 19 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
