Hello, Diegobiavati! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. New users are also welcome to post any questions or concerns to the arrivals lounge. If you want some practice editing, please do so on our graffiti wall. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. If you want to contribute with information about the place where you live, see Wikivoyage:Welcome, locals.
Thanks for starting and working on the article about Luminárias. But where there's no information, don't add it. I know that's a strange sentence, so let me clarify: the "alt" tab in listings is for alternate names, such as when a place has one name in English and another in the local language, or when a restaurant or hotel (for example) has changed its name but is better known under its old name. It's not a place to repeat the name of the establishment! So if someplace you're listing doesn't have an alternate name, please leave the "alt" tab blank (but don't delete it).
If you have any questions about this or any other aspect of the site, don't hesitate to post them in a reply below.
All the best,

- You actually restored the copies of names in the "alt" field. Please stop! Thanks. Ikan Kekek (talk) 12:11, 21 February 2021 (UTC)
Default address parameters
[edit]Small thing, but on Wikivoyage, with a few exceptions, we supply only street addresses in the "address" fields of listings (see Wikivoyage:Listings#Template parameters) So in the Luminárias guide, "Luminárias - MG, 37240-000" is the default and should be omitted. If you list anything that's outside of town, though, the city name should be included. Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:41, 22 February 2021 (UTC)
- Ok, thank you. —The preceding comment was added by Diegobiavati (talk • contribs)
- Sure thing. I look forward to seeing the article develop more. By the way, on talk pages, it's customary to sign your user name by typing 4 tildes (~) in a row at the end of each edit. Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:21, 22 February 2021 (UTC)
Don't delete unused fields from listing templates...
[edit]...like you're doing here. All of them will have to be restored, which is a lot of needless work you're creating. It would show a lot of good will if you'd restore the full templates yourself. Ikan Kekek (talk) 12:26, 27 February 2021 (UTC)
