Hello Ecobrown! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.

If you are a Wikipedian, then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:

It may also be very useful for you to check out Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians. If you need help, take a look at Wikivoyage:Help, or else post a message in the Wikivoyage:Travellers' pub, as a reply below or on my talk page. Thanks for contributing!

A few things to note, though:

  • It is not okay to copy from Wikipedia without attribution. If you are going to copy from Wikipedia, make sure you give attribution or place {{Wikipedia}} on the talk page
  • Using Wikipedia content word-for-word, may not be forbidden by policy, but due to the differences in scope, a lot of the content found on Wikipedia is out-of-scope. Make sure to paraphrase and write Wikipedia content in your own words (and don't forget the attribution)
  • Wikivoyage does not allow typing in ALL CAPS, that is, CORPORATE SHOUTING. Please take the time to read Wikivoyage:Don't tout and Wikivoyage:Capitalization
  • For the Central African Franc, Wikivoyage uses FCFA, not FRS (so 1000 FCFA, not 1000 FRS)

All the best,

Hey @SHB2000, thanks very much for the update i appreciate it as you can see am new here and your seem to have move guids for me, pls how do i improve my article more apart from the lines you just send. Ecobrown (talk) 08:58, 12 December 2022 (UTC)Reply
No worries! We all have learning curves when we're new.
Have a look at Wikivoyage's various guide and star articles to see what an ideal article will look like (I've written about 40 of them; you can see them on User:SHB2000#Articles – anything marked with a "(g)" or "(s)" is a guide or star). Of course, even these articles have room for improvement, but they should be a good guide. You may also want to have a look at previous destinations of the month or off the beaten path articles, which have been on the main page.
