Hello Gerald Waldo Luis! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

Just how big and complicated is Kualanamu Airport? I don't know the answer to the question, but unlike on Wikipedia, not every airport gets its own article on this site. See Wikivoyage:What is an article?#Exceptions:

...but not typical metropolitan or regional airports. Some specific guidelines as to when an airport merits its own article:
  • It should serve as a hub with a large number of connecting flights. Travellers are unlikely to spend a lot of time at airports that are merely origin or destination points.
  • It must have several food and shopping options available; if the airport does not have enough amenities to fill out a "Buy" and "Eat and Drink" section then it does not merit its own article.

So what do you think?

All the best,

Ikan Kekek, thanks for the warm welcome. I personally think Kualanamu can have its own article. As someone in Medan who often travels via airport, I most often see foreigners getting confused as to what I can do, where should I go, because most signs in the airport are Indonesian not English. A lot of people also don't know the movie theater. Kualanamu is also a hub of Sumatra, and is the second most popular airport after Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. It is also a transit hub to other cities in Sumatra. There's also the "Eat and drink" and "Buy" section. Thus, I'm firm that the airport is article-worthy.
Anyways thanks for telling me about Airport Expedition and the other stuff here, will check it out. Cheers, Gerald Waldo Luis (talk) 09:38, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sure thing. Carry on. You might want to look at how some other airport articles are organized for some inspiration, etc. Heathrow Airport and O'Hare International Airport are two of the airport articles with "guide" status, which is below "star", meaning they're good examples. Another thought: The whole point of airport articles is to avoid having coverage of airports overwhelm city articles. So please make sure that the specific information about Kualanamu International Airport in the Medan article is put into the airport article as relevant, with only a fairly short summary remaining (see articles about big cities like London for examples of how such information has previously been summarized), and make sure there's a link to the airport article in the Medan#Get in subsection, "By plane".
