I believe that this is the same account as User talk:155.72.188.19, so I'd like to re-iterate that Wikivoyage is not a tool for hotel marketing. Wikivoyage:Don't tout has the official site policy, and in particular the "Marketers and SEOs" section seems most applicable to you. Hi Ryan. Yes, this is the same account. I'm new to wikivoyage, and I work for Starwood Hotels, and I am trying to list our hotels and update with the correct information for some of our hotels with pre-existing links. You are welcome to correct incorrect URLs, addresses, etc, but as noted in the referenced guideline, anything that appears to be marketing is going to be highly scrutinized and will probably be removed; for example, "just like home amenities" is market-ese for "a bed and a TV" and will raise red flags with anyone reading it. The Wikivoyage:Don't tout guideline goes into great detail about what is acceptable, so please be sure to read through it as I believe it will answer your questions. -- Ryan • (talk) • 22:35, 23 January 2013 (UTC)

Ryan, the Cancun property URL was incorrect, it also said full service spa, which is incorrect (there is no spa open), and I updated it to say 2 infinity pools. That was not my attempt at marketing, but simply showing our hotel, and our just-like-home amenities are actually a washer/dryer, dishwasher, full kitchen, living room, dining room, jetted tub, free wireless internet. If you'd like I can list out those amenities, I just thought that too much verbiage is what you were flagging me for. Also, on every other page I've attempted to update, there are multiple links that are similar in nature to mine ex. on the Cancun page --

"Avalon Baccara Cancun, Blvd Kukulkan | Zona Hotelera. Small hotel but cozy. Central A/C, cable TV, and free Wi-Fi in the lobby. Swimming pool, and a restaurant that serves tasty food with ocean view. No jaccuzi, but you can use the jacuzzi and swimming pool at their sister hotel Avalon Grande that's nearby."

Again, I'd ask you to read the Wikivoyage:Don't tout guideline, which explains why a listing added by a random editor who stayed at a hotel and described it as "cozy" typically comes under less scrutiny than someone being paid by a hotel chain to help market their properties. -- Ryan • (talk) • 22:51, 23 January 2013 (UTC)
