[edit]

First off, your request at WV:RFC was removed because it didn't link to a talk page. There now is one, so feel free to relist it, linking to this page :)

You're off to a great start already, but there is definitely some stuff missing still. Here are some things I noticed and some general recommendations:

  • Cities and villages: Could use some variations. I can tell the descriptions aren't final, but constantly starting with "a(n) place" gets repetitive quickly. Try to sell the destination a bit. Instead of "A city that contains plenty of typical historical Dutch buildings like windmills and churches", try "Home to many typical historical Dutch landmarks, including a very historical train station built to handle twice as many goods as it has ever seen." Essentially, make a general statement, and highlight a good example of it.
  • Other destinations: I'm not convinced that these are actually notable destinations. They would just be prominent listings in their respective articles. For this section, try listing destination articles that don't fall into the "city or village"-category. A decent example of this could be Acquoy.
  • The Understand-section looks great. I'd say the climate data is extra, but it's not like it doesn't belong here either.
  • Listings: Except for those in cities and villages, listings do not belong in region articles. Post codes generally aren't listed for Dutch destinations and regions either.
  • Subsection order: Try to rank subsections (like those under Get in and Get around) by how likely someone would be to use them. For Get around, I'd say car - public transit - bike should be the order. Also, for Get in, the From (place) sections should be subsections below By train :)
  • See, Do, Eat and Drink sections: These shouldn't contain listings. Try to make the content of these sections more like a text you'd put into Understand. In other words, avoid using bulleted lists, and treat it more like a story of sorts. Give a summary of the kind of things that someone might want to visit for:
    • See: Give an overview of things such as different kinds of landmarks (castles, churches), museums, historical cities, et cetera. Some good highlights that you could mention could be Rivierenland's tower of Pisa (Acquoy church tower), Slot Loevestein (famous for Hugo de Groot's prison break), or the part of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie, specifically Fort Vuren. If you want some example of how you can do that properly, have a look at the Achterhoek or my draft for the Veluwe.
    • Do: (Great routes for) hiking and/or cycling, events and other things to experience.
    • Eat/Drink: You've got the essentials here, but where could one find them? What are some notable beers/wines? Something that I know applies to the Betuwe/Rivierenland, is the concept of landwinkels.
  • Go next: Not sure if you didn't get around to it yet, or can't think of suggestions, but try to link nearby destinations, as well as bordering regions. A decent list could consist of The Veluwe, Achterhoek, Utrechtse Heuvelrug, 's-Hertogenbosch and Dordrecht.
  • Inspiration: It doesn't hurt to draw inspiration from what other travel guides list. Most relevant for Rivierenland would be Gelderse Streken, Welkom in de Betuwe and Uit in de Regio.

What you've got so far definitely isn't a bad start. There's mainspace regions with less content than this. Assuming you're aiming to get this to a guide-standard though, it's got some growing left to do though. I hope my feedback has given you an idea of how you can improve from this point. Definitely keep it going, you're on the right track! If you need any help, feel free to {{Ping}} me. I'd de happy to chip in :)

Thank you for the large list of feedback! I have already made a start on processing it all and intend on working through the list soon.
I was not fully aware of the guidelines for region pages, so I will be taking a good look at this as my page is currently formatted a bit like a city page. I also just saw that you welcomed me on my user talk page and mentioned an article you already wrote for the region, so I will also have a good look at this and take some information and images from there, I'm sure that'll result in a pretty complete article.
