Hello, TheTechnician27! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. New users are also welcome to post any questions or concerns to the arrivals lounge. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. If you want to contribute with information about the place where you live, see Wikivoyage:Welcome, locals.
And thank you very much for all your great cleanup work!
All the best,

- Thank you for the welcome! I'd imagine you get a lot of Wikipedians here due to how similar Wikivoyage is to Wikipedia when compared with other sister projects; I confess I'm one of them, so I went ahead and read the guide. I'll miss the liberal use of double brackets, but the guidelines all seem reasonable. I actually don't really travel myself, but I think you all do great work here, and I feel like more coordination between Wikipedians and editors of sister projects can benefit everyone. - Amen to that! Thanks again. Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:46, 24 October 2019 (UTC)
Listings in region articles
[edit]Hi again!
Thanks for editing the Westchester County article, but it shouldn't have listing templates in it, as it's a region article. Full listings belong only in the city articles linked in the article. "See" and "Do" in region articles should summarize highlights in prose and give links to the cities where the attractions are located. Ikan Kekek (talk) 03:34, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
- Oh, sorry! I'll keep them limited to city articles then. TheTechnician27 (talk) 03:38, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
- Also, I saw the notice about shorter names being different from alternate names. I'll keep that in mind. TheTechnician27 (talk) 03:41, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
- So, Ikan, would you say that a good rule of thumb for attractions in a region article is the name of the attraction in bold text, possibly a hyperlink to that attraction's webpage if one exists, and a description of the attraction, and nothing else? And can I still use the eat, do, see, etc. templates? Or just stick to everything typed out normally? TheTechnician27 (talk) 03:50, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
- I wouldn't even link the attraction's website, just mention it's in [Name of Town] and link that name. Because Washington, D.C. is a districted city, you can use that as an example. Ikan Kekek (talk) 04:37, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
