Umm... what???[edit]

Why did you revert my edits here??? Thanks. --Prahlad balaji (talk) 03:11, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Prahlad balaji: Check your email. Tks4Fish (talk) 03:11, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, Tks4Fish. I'm an admin/bureaucrat here at Wikivoyage, and I'm confused because User:Prahlad balaji's edits to Wikivoyage:Wikivoyagers by location are hidden in such a way that I can't view them at all. If Prahlad is engaging in some kind of abuse, Wikivoyage admins and other active users here need to know about it. At the very least, is there a way you could re-hide the edits in such a way that Wikivoyage admins could choose to view them? Ikan Kekek (talk) 03:18, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Ikan Kekek: I think it has to do with oversight. Best, --Prahlad balaji (talk) 03:20, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
It's not really "abuse", but it's my personal info. See w:en:WP:OVERSIGHT. Cheers --Prahlad balaji (talk) 03:25, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I see. So be more careful. Ikan Kekek (talk) 03:25, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. Thanks for understanding --Prahlad balaji (talk) 03:26, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Ikan Kekek:! Prahlad is correct, the edits have been Oversighted. Unfortunately, due to the nature of it, I can't share details or reduce the level of hiding. I can attest that Prahlad is not engaging in abusive behavior, and some basic clarifications were sent to him so as to avoid this from happening again. If there are more questions, please let me know. Best, Tks4Fish (talk) 03:28, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'm totally good with this explanation. Thanks for helping out. Ikan Kekek (talk) 03:33, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'm still confused. Playing fast and loose with others' information is one thing, but are oversighters really empowered to overrule individual editors' judgment in deciding how much of their own personal information to share? It looks like that's what happened here, and if so, I see that as a problematic policy on Wikimedia's part. -- AndreCarrotflower (talk) 06:31, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@AndreCarrotflower: no, it does not apply to people of all ages. It was for my own safety. I will send you an email containing the details. Regards. --Prahlad balaji (talk) 15:01, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, if age is a consideration then that makes sense. -- AndreCarrotflower (talk) 15:07, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yea, I sent you an email detailing the small bits. --Prahlad balaji (talk) 15:17, 17 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Blocking Mullvad VPN?[edit]

Blocking Mullvad VPN?[edit]

Hi, got the below when trying to use Wikivoyage on Mullvad VPN (https://mullvad.net/en)

Not sure why the VPN would be blocked - it's a paid VPN and you also have CAPTCHA + email verfication.

Personally I'd rather not broadcast my location and personal identity with every edit I make.

Thanks!
