I deleted Heide (Holstein)‎‎, because it had just one sentence and a template. If you plan on adding enough information to make it a real article, please do so, and I'd be willing to restore the bare template if you like.

I'm sorry for the confusion. I just started working on the article. I would like to translate the article into english since there's only a german version.

I do it as part of a project at university. I hope it won't get deleted again, I will expand it very soon.

Time formatting

Hi VaneTrz20. Thank you for your contributions to Wikivoyage, and welcome to our community.

In Wikivoyage articles, we use either the 12-hour clock (e.g., 9AM-noon) or the 24-hour clock (e.g., 09:00-12:00), depending on what travellers will most likely see in the country. In most of Europe, we use the 24-hour clock. In the United Kingdom and the United States, we use the 12-hour clock. To find out which format is used in each country, you can look at the top of the talk page for that country's article, e.g., talk:Estonia or talk:Sweden.

And we never use "12AM" or "12PM" because no-one can agree on which means "noon" and which means "midnight". We avoid the confusion by just using "noon" and "midnight" where we are using the 12-hour clock, and "12:00" and "00:00" where we are using the 24-hour clock.

Please stop using the 12-hour clock for articles in continental Europe. It is confusing for readers and undermines Wikivoyage's consistency and credibility. Changes to Dessau article

Hi VaneTrz20,

Why did you remove some of the information I added for "G Clubhostel" in the Dessau‎‎ article (and introduced wrong grammar by adding "there" in the sentence referring to the holiday apartment)? Sorry but I can't help but feel like that you just made the changes to suit your preferences...

First of all, I didn't make these changes to suit my preferences. I'm a student and making changes to Wikipedia and Wikivoyage articles is a part of my course. Our professor asked us to improve a listing that is too long and has unnecessary information. For example, I deleted "All building and room access is by PIN code which guets receive on the day of arrival" because any hotel I've been to had access via PIN so it's not a characteristic that particularly stands out (Policy I'm refering to can be found here (no advice from Captain Obvious)).

Anyway, you can change it back if you want.

I also asked my professor because of the grammar issue and he told me you're right, so we can change this sentences back to your version.

I didn't mean to be impolite, but given you just wrote "Updated listing for G Clubhostel" I had to assume the worst as this happened a few times before on wikis/databases. Interesting, may I ask your university major?

Well, I've travelled around Germany quite a bit in the past four years and from 10 - 12 accommodations, only two (the hostel in Dessau being one of them) didn't require a key - either a traditional one or a plastic access card - so from my observation it's by no means standard that you have none of those and enter building and room by typing in your PIN only. So while I don't quite agree with your statement, means of access is perhaps information that's not relevant, so I won't reinstate that bit. USB chargers and toothbrushes in a snack vending machine are unusual though - if it should be mentioned is debatable ;]
