Welcome[edit]

Hello WYRRRR! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page.

If you are a Wikipedian, then you may notice some differences in policies and the style of our articles. These include:

It may also be very useful for you to check out Wikivoyage:Welcome, Wikipedians. If you need help, take a look at Wikivoyage:Help, or else post a message in the Wikivoyage:Travellers' pub, as a reply below or on my talk page. Thanks for contributing!

Also, please read Wikivoyage:What is an article. A scenic spot should get a listing in the article for the nearest town, not its own article, as it's probably a place to visit and look around, not a destination with restaurants, hotels, other things to see, etc. Also, make sure you follow Wikivoyage:Copyleft. And don't try to recreate a stub article for XiaoQikong Scenic Spot‎ a third time, please. Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:17, 15 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for creating the TaiJiang article. Some of the text you added is very detailed, like an encyclopedia article. We're trying to write a travel guide here, not an encyclopedia. Does the typical traveller want to know about the administrative structure of the county? Probably not. Does the typical Travellers want to know exactly how many people lived in the county on a specific day and at a specific time? No, rounded numbers are easier to read. Hi WYRRRR. I hope you are reading this. Your article on Zhenyuan has some problems too. I'm particularly concerned about the 'Get around' section, which not only contains a lot of information that is not useful or interesting to travellers but also appears to have been copied from somewhere. Actually, we don't normally list towns in the 'Get around section. The 'Get around' section should mainly be about how to get around the city or county.
