Hello, Wolfhound17! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. Terima kasih banyak for your edits to articles about Sabah. I never did get to East Malaysia when I was living in Terengganu back in the day; it would be interesting to go someday.

Malayu/Melayu

[edit]

Hi, Wolfhound17. I notice you consistently use "Malayu" as the Malay word for "Malay", but that's not the spelling they taught me in Sekolah Kebangsaan. I learned Bahasa Melayu, not Bahasa Malayu. Please explain: Is there an alternate spelling in standard use in Sabah? Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:53, 15 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Helo User:Ikan Kekek. Yes you are correct. Malayu is how it is pronounced in Sabah. I have seen in spelt in some texts/books I have. I have thought hard about it and I think it may have been a written type error originally on my part and then accidently continued using, not realising the misspelling. I will try too be more through. The New Sabah Times spell "Melayu" so I will have to change it back Bah! Trima kasih.(User talk:Wolfhound17 Wolfhound17 talk)

Sama-sama. Ikan Kekek (talk) 19:26, 15 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

User:Ikan Kekek. I have viewed/searched my recent texts, I found only one misspelling of Malayu within the TEXT section of KK, followed by the correct Melayu in the next paragraph. You stated "consistently" meaning a lot. I did not find a lot. I would like to correct my mistakes as soon as possible. Can you point them out as I may have missed some, then I will correct the spelling. Trima kasha.

There are 9 instances of "Malayu" in the Sabah article. Ikan Kekek (talk) 01:35, 16 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Helo User:Ikan Kekek. Saya telah memburu mereka semua ke bawah. Trima kasih kerana membantu. We are returning to Sabah in December are there any questions posted that need investigating as I could collect the data then. I have looked but not come across anything.User talk:Wolfhound17 talk
