Yuhuan is an island city on the southeast coast of Zhejiang Province. Yuhuan has beaches, fishing ports for people to visit, and is rich in seafood.
Understand[edit]
Yuhuan is one of China's 14 island counties. The terrain of Yuhuan is high in the north and low in the south, with hills and plains. The whole territory is composed of 55 islands such as the Chumen-Yuhuan Peninsula and Jishan and Pishan. Its east coast is the East China Sea, south across the Dongtou Ocean and Wenzhou city connected, west Yueqing Bay and Yueqing City, north Wenling City. At the end of 2017, the city had a population of 433,900.
Yuhuan city has China's national 4A(AAAA) level scenic spots - Yuhuan Dalu Island and Yuhuan Xuanmen Bay sightseeing Agricultural Park, as well as national wetland park - Yuhuan Xuanmen Bay National Wetland Park. Yuhuan specialties in addition to seafood, there are Yuhuan Wendan（玉环文旦, a variety of pomelo）and other fruits.
Climate[edit]
Yuhuan is a subtropical monsoon climate, and coastal, so there are obvious maritime climate characteristics. The average annual temperature in Yuhuan is about 15-20 °C, with an average temperature of about 7 °C in January and 27 °C in July. It rarely snows in Yuhuan, and there is almost no frost throughout the year.
Since Yuhuan is a coastal island city, the air in Yuhuan is clean and smog-free all year round, and its air quality ranks among the top in China.

By the end of 2023, Yuhuan has jurisdiction over 3 streets, 6 towns and 2 townships.
- Streets: Yucheng Street, Kanmen Street, Damaiyu Street
- Town: Qinggang Town, Chumen Town, Qianjiang Town, Shamen Town, Lupu Town, Longxi Town
- Township: Jishan Township, Haishan Township
In addition, there is a similar township level: Yuhuan Economic Development Zone (also known as Yuhuan New Town/玉环新城).
Get in[edit]
By plane[edit]
There is no airport in Yuhuan. You can first arrive at Taizhou Luqiao Airport (the only airport in Taizhou city, but the scale is small), Ningbo Lishe International Airport, Wenzhou Longwan International Airport (not in Taizhou city, but the scale is larger) by air, and then transfer to the inter-county bus or the inter-city bus to Yuhuan.
By train[edit]
There is no railway station in Yuhuan, you can first arrive at Wenling Station and other railway stations, and then transfer to the inter-county bus or the inter-city bus to Yuhuan.
Yuhuan Railway station is under construction as of 2023.
By car[edit]
Yongtai-wenzhou complex expressway passes through Yuhuan, and in Yuhuan there are Shamen interconnecting (Shamen Town), Yuhuan interconnecting (Yucheng Street, direct access to the city), Lupu interconnecting (Lupu Town) and Haishan interconnecting (Haishan Township).
In addition to the highway, you can also access Yuhuan from the S226 provincial highway.
Get around[edit]
In Yuhuan City, taxis from any township can quickly reach any place in their respective townships.
- The taxi fare in the urban area (Yucheng Street) is: the starting price (within 1.5 km) is ¥6, and after 1.5 km, each kilometer is charged ¥2. Since taxi operators vary from town to town, if you need to take a taxi to another town, it is best to ask the driver for advice or take a local shuttle bus to another town. However, Jishan Township is the only exception, because Jishan Township is on Jishan Island, there is no road to directly access the island, you need to take a ferry. In this case, it is recommended to take the city shuttle directly.
- Take the shuttle bus in the city, you can go to the Yuhuan passenger transportation center located in the city center, you can also go to the bus station in various towns. You can put money on the bus, or you can buy a ticket in advance and get on the bus. In addition, you can also swipe a citizen card, but the card is only held by Yuhuan citizens and cannot be obtained by foreign tourists.
- There are also buses in urban areas and some towns, unlike city buses, which are numbered, have fixed stops, and operate only in one township, while city buses travel between two or more townships. The urban bus has 101 road, 102 road, 103 road, 105 road, 106 road and other lines, are ¥2 (swipe citizen card ¥1.5), unmanned ticket self-service coin.

If in doubt about transportation, try asking a local. Most of the local people are very friendly and willing to answer your questions (but some of the older people do not understand Mandarin, in which case you can ask younger people). This can be done in other ways, with other problems.

There are two Chinese national AAAA-level (4A-level) scenic spots in Yuhuan City, namely Yuhuan Xuanmen Bay Sightseeing Agricultural Park and Dalu Island.
- 3 Yuhuan Dalu island (大鹿岛), get off at Trumen Station, then take the Trumen-Porta shuttle to Trumen Wharf, then take the cruise to Oshima Island; or take the shuttle bus to Kanmen, then take the Kanmen No. 2 bus to the terminal Ying Dong Pier oil depot, at Ying Dong Pier by boat to Dalu Island. - 6 Yuhuan Xuanmen Bay National Wetland Park (玉环漩门湾国家湿地公园), Yuhuan City Qinggang Town Yingbin west Road, ☏ +86 576-87111111. Located in the east of Yueqing Bay, Xuanmen Bay. Wetlands are composed of coastal and coastal wetlands, river wetlands, marsh wetlands, constructed wetlands and other wetland resources. It is rich in wildlife resources. The coastal area of the park is one of the largest wild Chinese Black-headed Gull habitats in the country and one of the wintering areas for Black-faced Spoonbill. There are also many 3A-level tourist attractions in Yuhuan City.
- 7 Longxi animation flower valley (龙溪动漫花谷), mountain village, Longxi town, Yuhuan city (玉环市龙溪镇山里村). - 8 Jishan island (鸡山岛), Jishan township, Yuhuan City (take the ferry at Ganjiang ZhanTai Pier (see DaLu Island)). - 10 Qianjiang Bai Ma Ao (干江白马岙), Ganjiang town. The sandy beach is delicate and soft, and the beach is more than 20 meters wide at low tide (about 7 meters at high tide). It is more than 200 meters long and has an inclined surface, so it is also suitable for beach swimming. It is a 3A national scenic spot.

There are no specific festivals in Yuhuan. But during the "Lantern Festival" you can go to Yuhuan to feel the unique Chinese traditional festive atmosphere. During the Lantern Festival, the town of Yuhuan will have a traditional Chinese cultural performance - "Dragon Dance". Performers hold up handmade colors representing the dragon's path in the streets, accompanied by fireworks. There will be a lot of people watching, and the scene is very lively and has a traditional festive atmosphere.
In addition, Yuhuan helds the Yuhuan Music Festival every year. However, the date it is held each year is uncertain.

There are many supermarkets in Yuhuan city, from large supermarkets to small shops of several square meters, everywhere. Liuhe Supermarket and Haoduo supermarket are local chain supermarkets in Yuhuan.
Shopping mall[edit]
- 1 Yuhuan Xincheng Wuyue Square (玉环新城吾悦广场), South west of intersection of Sandan Road and Shuanggang Road, Yucheng Street. There are nearly 600 shops inside and outside, and there are fashion shops, game city, snack bar and other shops. The only Starbucks and Burger King in Yuhuan are here. It is now one of the largest urban living complexes in Yuhuan.
