  • 1 Schussenried Abbey (Kloster Schussenried). Year-round: Exhibitions in Schussenried Abbey. The preserved buildings of Schussenried Monastery a former Premonstratensian imperial monastery founded in 1183, are worth seeing. In 1748, construction of the entire monastery complex began, but barely half of it was completed. The building project followed the example of Wiblingen Abbey. Both monasteries are characterized by their outstanding library rooms in the north wing of the monastery complex. A chapter house in the east was demolished in the early 19th century. The St. Magnus Church, which was converted into a baroque style shortly before the new monastery was built, has been preserved from the Middle Ages. It is a three-aisled basilica with baroque furnishings. Schussenried Abbey (Q450048) on Wikidata Schussenried Abbey on Wikipedia
