Spitzingsee is a hamlet on the lake of the same name in the Schliersee mountains (Mangfallgebirge) in Upper Bavaria. The lake is a very popular recreation destination in summer and winter owing to its easy access from Munich.
The lake and the lakeside village have a picturesque location framed by alpine mountain scenery. The lake's water quality is considered excellent.

By train
There is no direct train connection to Spitzingsee, but there is a regular daytime connection from Munich to Schliersee, from where there is a bus to Spitzingsee.
