[edit]Churches
[edit]- 1 Eura Church, Sorkkistentie 5 (Eura). A stone and brick church from 1898, designed by Josef Stenbäck. It is known to be the third church in the history of Eura; the first church existed when the parish of Eura was founded in 1445, and the second church functioned between 1728 and 1897. The capacity of the current church is about 800.
- 2 Hinnerjoki Church, Kirkkotie 36 (Hinnerjoki). A wooden church from 1755, designed by Ilmari Launis.
- 3 Honkilahti Church, Kirkonahteentie 7 (Honkilahti). A wooden church from 1759, designed by Thomas Ravonius.
- 4 Kiukainen Church, Kiukaisten kirkkotie 2 (Kiukainen). A wooden church from 1761, designed by Job Höckert.
- 5 Köyliö Church, Kirkkosaarentie 217 (Köyliö). Decorated wooden church finished in 1749, with current look from 1890. It's on Kirkkosaari, an island in Lake Köyliö. There seems to have been an older church on the site, and it is speculated that it had heritage from pre-Swedish times: it was known as "Lallin kellari", which may be from Celtic kel-air. The first bishop of Finland (according to legend), Saint Henry, was murdered by Lalli on the lake after a forced visit. The route from Kirkkosaari to Nousiainen, where Saint Henry was buried, became a popular (now revived) pilgrimage.
- 6 Panelia Church, Paneliantie 38 (Panelia, Kiukainen). The 20th-century granite church originally served as a chapel, but was later consecrated as a church. Next to the church is the Panelia's dairy, which was built in 1908, and today serves as a party space for various occasions.
- 7 Säkylä Church, Rantatie 247 (Säkylä). A wooden church from 1776, constructed by Antti Piimänen and his son Mikael. It replaced the previous church that was destroyed by fire in 1773.
