Hvaler is a municipality in the county of Østfold, Norway. Consisting of a group of island and a population of 3,694. There are about 830 islands in total, most are uninhabited. The four main islands are Vesterøy, Spjærøy, Asmaløy and Kirkøy.

The best ways to get around is using a car or public transport like a bus. Go by boat if you want to visit the other islands. On the islands themselves, walking is nice.

Hvaler borders Fredrikstad in the north, Sarpsborg and Halden in northeast, Tjøme in Vestfold to the west, and Strömstad in Sweden in the east.
