Lebanon is the county seat of Wilson County, which is in Middle Tennessee.

The downtown area of Lebanon is home to the Capitol Theatre which originally opened in 1949 and is host to various events and stage productions throughout the year. The Wilson County Fairgrounds are also located in Lebanon and is home to the Wilson County Expo center along with Fiddlers Grove Historic Village which provides buildings and displays depicting the life of the early settlers in the area. The Wilson County Fair is held each fall and is one of the largest in the region with attendance that usually exceeds that of the Tennessee State Fair.
