Map of Monroe County (Michigan)

Other destinations[edit]

This county was established in 1817 of July as a part of organizing Michigan's L.P. region after the War of 1812 (most notably after the River Raisin Rallying Cry, of course).

Get in[edit]

Interstate Highway 75

Get around[edit]

By Bus[edit]

Lake Erie Transit is the avenue for those who don't have a car (or who don't intend to drive at all).

  • Cemeteries with headstones in the German language, such as one on Jackman Road at the intersection with Albain Road.

  • Christmas in Ida. A community based event in the community of Ida, located between Monroe, Dundee and Temperance.

Historically, Catholics in the region have enjoyed muskrats on Fridays, in addition to fish. At some events and local dinners, you may get a chance to try it.

Stay safe[edit]

Here's either Monroe News or the Monroe County Library System as optional, third-party back-up (but feel free to warm up to any tune, though).

This region travel guide to Monroe County is an outline and may need more content. It has a template, but there is not enough information present. If there are Cities and Other destinations listed, they may not all be at usable status or there may not be a valid regional structure and a "Get in" section describing all of the typical ways to get here. Please plunge forward and help it grow!
