Mount Ida is a little town located in Central Arkansas. It is well known for Quartz Crystal mining and is claimed t be the Quartz Crystal Capital of the World. This activity brings thousands of tourists to the small town every year.

  • 1 Wegner Crystal Mines, 82 Wegner Ranch Road (6 miles South of Mount Ida off Highway 27), +1 870 867-2309. Open from 8AM-4:30PM. Wegner Crystal Mines is a place for the whole family to come and dig for quartz crystals. They have several different activity options so that you can pick the best one for you. Besides the opportunity to go out to the mine and dig you can see lots of different mineral specimens from all over the world in an 10,000 square foot warehouse. The prices range from 5$ - 15$.
