If you need to take a plane, you will most likely land at Naples International Airport. Otherwise, you will probably arrive by train, as Salerno is a major railway destination and train travel is a good value in Italy. For more details on these and other methods of entry, see Salerno#Get in.

Day 1: Arrive in Salerno and visit the city. Day 2: Take a train or a bus from Salerno to Paestum and visit Paestum, then come back to Salerno to sleep. Day 3: Take a bus (or ferry during summer) from Salerno to Amalfi to visit Amalfi, then come back to Salerno.

Stay safe[edit]

While Salerno, Paestum, and Amalfi are generally considered safe for tourists, it's important to exercise common-sense safety precautions, especially in crowded areas like bars and train stations. Stay safe and avoid pickpockets.
