The South Barrier Coast is a section of the Gulf Coast of Texas, between Padre Island National Seashore and Edna in Jackson County. The largest cities in this region are Corpus Christi and Victoria.

Understand

The South Barrier Coast runs from north of the Mansfield Channel in the south near Raymondville up to Port Lavaca, including the areas inland up to about 80 miles. It is bordered on the south by the Rio Grande Valley, to the west by the South Texas Plains, and to the north it leads into the North Barrier Coast at Lavaca Bay.
