Most travellers will drive via I-20 from either the Dallas direction or from El Paso. US-84 from Lubbock hits I-20 about 3 miles west.

• Sweetwater Jaycee's Rattlesnake Roundup, Nolan County Coliseum, 1699 Cypress, ☏ +1 325 235-3484. This unique event, held annually in early March, centers around the region's most dangerous reptile, with a range of wacky diversions such as a guided snake hunt, a cook-off and rattlesnake-eating contest, a beard contest, a "Miss Snakecharmer" beauty pageant, and an evening dance. 

Eat

Most of the restaurants in town are either on the access road to I-20, or along Broadway street. Aside from the many chain fast food restaurants, there are not a great many options.
