Redirect for Blakeney Point to "here" ?[edit]

I think there should also be a redirect page for "Blakeney Point" redirecting to this page. Reason is that most travellers will be interested in the Seal Colonies (or bird reserves) and these are generally known as "Blakeney Point" so any searches travellers do would normally be on "Blakeney Point" not "Blakeney" - hence the redirect as this page covers "Blakeney Point".

But I don't know policy and don't know how one then ensures that the redirect operates for the Norfolk Blakeney Point (in case there are other Blakeney Points in the world ... So maybe some experience person could do it ? (avoiding me making a disaster of it)

Generally redirects are not created for points of interest, only settlements that are merged with others in the same area. Also in this case if you type in Blakeney in the search field it will suggest this page and all the results will point to this or Norfolk articles. But what was needed was actual mention of Blakeney Point on this page. I have have made an entry but it could do with expanding.--Traveler100 (talk) 06:26, 21 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It is mentioned in the "Understand" section ("The nearby Seal Colony on Blakeney Point attracts many visitors"). Also mentioned in the Do section ("Take a ferry to see the Common and Grey seals at Blakeney Point"). I raised it because I've never heard anybody actually refer to Blakeney, always Blakeney Point. I can see it being a POI but it is probably bigger than that in that it is generally the reason anybody (traveller) goes to the area. PsamatheM (talk) 15:54, 21 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Page Title[edit]

Also, should this page really be called Blakeney (Norfolk). Everywhere else is just the name of the place without the county in brackets after. So should this page be renamed to just Blakeney(and if so, how does one do that?)

I have changed the title in the banner (using pgname parameter). Moving the page so it is without the county is possible but is a borderline case. There is a similar sized village in Gloucestershire with the same name so usually the brackets should be used. However in this case the chances of Blakeney (Gloucestershire) being created are small (would add POIs in the area to Lydney or Forest of Dean) and Blakeney in Norfolk is more of a destination for tourists. Could consider moving --Traveler100 (talk) 06:33, 21 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I only raised it as it looked a bit inconsistent so not a big deal). I wondered if the page had been created with a non-standard title which had been overlooked in the original creation times PsamatheM (talk) 15:53, 21 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
