"municipal recreation"[edit]

What does that mean? I've never heard of that term in English, and the closest French equivalent I can translate this phrase is loisirs municipaux, but that translates to "municipal hobbies", which I still don't understand, because I've never heard of this thing, in both English and French. Is this a common term used in Canadian English, but "municipal recreation" and "non-municipal recreation" is not common in my two familiar English dialects (Aus and US English). @Ground Zero, OhanaUnited:? --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 11:45, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Better neadings would be "Municipal recreation facilites" and "Other recreation facilities" Ground Zero (talk) 11:51, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Those make more sense to me and I'll implement your suggestion tomorrow, though I do wonder whether a traveller would care if it's managed by the municipal council or not. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 11:54, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
