Pronunciation guides[edit]

The phonetic pronunciation guides are frankly completely ridiculous, would there be any complains if i delete them?

Any chance you might fix them instead? --(WT-en) Peter Talk 09:15, 2 September 2008 (EDT)
Nah, I'm not good at that sort of stuff. The current problem is that currently they are completely build up over Danish pronunciation of the letters, which really isn't helping the non native speakers - it's supposed to help. My idea was that deleting them might encourage someone with a bit more talent than me and the original author, to step forward....(WT-en) Sertmann 09:51, 2 September 2008 (EDT)
Fair enough. I'd say delete them, then, and perhaps include a stub phonetic guide to encourage further contributions. Danish pronunciation boggled my mind when I visited! --(WT-en) Peter Talk 22:19, 2 September 2008 (EDT)

[edit]

Given how Denmark is known for cycling, how about one that represents that? --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 08:07, 10 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Banner 0
Banner 1
Banner 2
The current banner is pretty bad, and the best out of your two is #2. But won't the article title bar obscure the most interesting bit (the Danish text)? --ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 15:23, 10 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes Done SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 02:43, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@SHB2000: Either I wasn't clear enough, or you didn't read my comment fully. I wasn't supporting the proposed change, because (as predicted), the article title covers up the Danish text in the banner.--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 19:09, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I didn't read your message properly. However, on my view, no text is covered up – only an arrow. Is the mobile view different? SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 06:42, 14 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Banners don't really work on mobile at all. On one of my desktops, the text was covered but on this one it looks OK. It's probably just a question of screen size etc. The only thing that might have solved it for all is moving the sign to right-of-centre in the banner, but the source image doesn't look like it would allow this.--ThunderingTyphoons! I think it's why dewikivoyage decided not to use banners. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 10:42, 15 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oh well, I support the change now in retrospect.--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 10:51, 15 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
