Byte size

[edit]

According to Special:LongPages, this seems like the 6th largest article in page size :) SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 13:11, 17 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

I suppose it'd make sense to export the json to Commons's data namespace. That would isolate changes in the data from changes in the article, so that not every spelling fix means storing one more version of that data. One could also consider wheter we need nanometre resolution for roads. I truncated to dm in Turku riverside walk. Even that is overkill. I suppose not every bend is traced, so people cannot have a GPS drive the car anyway. There might be some points where people would like to zoom in to the metre, and at some points we might have done an exact job. Indentation uses more space than the digits, though, so it'll only save some 10%. Uploading to Commons we'd avoid 90 % of the future versions, probably more, which saves more than a 10% cut in page size. –LPfi (talk) 15:12, 17 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

An SEO celebration

[edit]

It's nice that the second result when I type up "E8 road" and "E8 travel", seems to come up with this result with the first one is Wikipedia. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 08:42, 24 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Wow! –LPfi (talk) 08:44, 24 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
Might it be due to Google knowing you like Wikivoyage? –LPfi (talk) 08:45, 24 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
I tried it on incognito mode (on two devices) so it's likely not the case. As Wikitravel has no equivalent of this article, unlike most other articles which had the SEO issues of duplication, this one didn't. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 08:55, 24 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
OK, nice. –LPfi (talk) 10:46, 24 January 2022 (UTC)Reply
