Naming confusion

Is this really a subregion of Wielkopolskie Voivodship?? Seems to me that "Greater Poland" in the past was a region even bigger than this voivodship (leading to a hierarchy-breaking inclusion of places like Biskupin in this article), and in the present usually refers to Wielkopolskie Voivodship itself, since it is a literal translation. Łódź is not a part of Greater Poland present Województwo Łódzkie (Łódź Voivodship) covers some cities that historically had been part of Greater Poland but Łódź always been a part of Central Poland (WT-en) JakubPiotr

Merge

@Texugo, PrinceGloria, Ypsilon, Atsirlin: You were involved in the discussion that is cited as justification for this merge tag. It's one of our few remaining articles tagged for merging, but I'm not quite sure what information needs to be merged since the current article is about a historic region and it isn't really clear what overlaps with Poland (the cited merge target) and what should go elsewhere. If any of you have ideas, can you move the important bits or at least delete any unimportant bits? If it is this discussion you are referring to, then I say it again more than one year later: I would not object removing any extra layers in our structure of Poland. PrinceGloria likely knows best what should be done. ϒpsilon (talk) 16:14, 21 May 2015 (UTC)

Just to clarify, my question isn't whether this should be redirected elsewhere, but a request to help with merging since I'm not familiar with Poland. I assume the cities and other destination lists can probably just be deleted, but should any of the "Understand" information be moved to another article? Does the "Get in" and "Get around" info belong in another article? To this point I've performed more than 100 merges, but for this particular article I'm just not clear how to proceed and would appreciate any assistance from anyone who knows the area and can move the info from this article to the appropriate merge target. -- Ryan • (talk) • 16:19, 21 May 2015 (UTC)

If I understand User:PrinceGloria above correctly, this article should be turned into a redirect to Wielkopolskie and anything of value be merged there. Wielkopolska seems to translate to Greater Poland, and a look at the maps in both articles shows that they mostly overlap. ϒpsilon (talk) 16:30, 21 May 2015 (UTC)

We can safely just copy sections from here to Wielkopolskie which are missing there. If there are any deficiencies in Wielkopolskie in general, I will cover them whenever I feel like editing Wielkopolskie anyway - e.g. when somebody volunteers to create a region map :D PrinceGloria (talk) 18:55, 21 May 2015 (UTC)

Thanks, I've copied most of the content into Wielkopolskie, leaving out a few bits that were already present, skipping "Get in" (the target article already had a decent "Get in" section), and leaving out portions of the old article that were just lists of cities. -- Ryan • (talk) • 19:32, 21 May 2015 (UTC)
