Comments[edit]

In fact, this entire page as of January 15th, 2013 is filled with INCORRECT INFORMATION with regards to "East Houston". As stated below, "East Houston" is a specific part of Houston and does not refer to the entire east half of Houston.

For future reference, the boundaries of East Houston are shown on Google Maps (https://maps.google.com/maps?q=east+houston) and the City of Houston's website (http://www.houstontx.gov/superneighborhoods/profiles/SN_49.htm). There seems to be a tendency here to consider everything that is East of Hwy 288/Hwy 59 to be "East Houston". This is not correct. Many places being listed here either belong on the Pasadena or Clear Lake pages. --TakeTheTicket (talk) 00:43, 16 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Are you sure you are approaching this the right way? Our district names often differ from local placenames, because we need to have sensible ways to divide up a city with no gaps or overlap, in order to have a place to put content. Please see Talk:Houston#Districtification_.28v2.29. Also, listings should never be outright deleted for being in the wrong place (if these are in fact in the wrong place)—they should be moved to where they belong. I'm restoring the content of the page, but if you can find a proper place within the Houston#Districts scheme to put them, please do move them. Otherwise, please join the districting discussion, rather than deleting content ;) --Peter Talk 01:49, 16 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You don't get it. This is a grammar issue. Do we say EAST United States or EASTERN United States? South United States or Southern United States? I understand the want for general North/East/South/West pages for Houston since it's so large and complex, but then we should call the pages EASTERN HOUSTON or SOUTHERN HOUSTON. I say this because there are official parts of town called East Houston, South Houston, Southeast Houston, and so forth. They have official boundaries and management bodies. This page is ignorant of East Houston's existence and is a perpetuating factor in the public's continued ignorance of the offical parts of Houston. The world wide web exists, use it. --TakeTheTicket (talk) 01:50, 23 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

So if I understood you correctly, you understand that East Houston is an official place and that the restaurants/attractions on the East Houston page are in fact NOT in East Houston but you don't care and want the INCORRECT/INACCURATE information to remain there. How about YOU move the information instead of screwing with me? --TakeTheTicket (talk) 01:51, 23 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Rather than deleting the information that's in this article I've restored the listings with the understanding that they will be moved to the appropriate place once a proper district structure is agreed upon. I don't live in Houston and am not familiar with the area, but whether they are in the right place or not the listings in this article are useful and we don't want to lose the information. If there is another (existing) article that they should be in please move them there. -- Ryan • (talk) • 02:12, 23 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
