Recent updates : I've added some advice on the situation here and I'd like feedback.

A. Security Me and a friend were detained during election time by police and forced into a van they forced to stop that was heading to imphal because we were hitchiking at dusk on the way to tata Lake. A police Major and his three submachinegun wielding officers were very concerned about our welbeing.

I'm yet to hear about any tourists having difficulty but the region is generally unsafe because of cross border drug /gold trafficking and insurgent groups. I have been told more than 20 identifiable armed groups are active here. My advice to tourists would be to stay in the city centre and avoid walking in strange places but id like other opinions.

B. The information on women's rights here was interesting, but I shortened it somewhat so that the article is more concise/useful for travellers and less political. Of anyone feels strongly about the inclusion of this material I would suggest it goes in "understand".

This listing has been repeatedly deleted for touting. I don't see a compelling reason to host a detouted version of it when the users who add and re-add the listing always tout. Please read User talk:Sagar Gurumayum, User talk:Threemothersartgallery and User talk:2402:3A80:DD1:3786:B8D6:F52:DEC1:CC3D for documentation. The IP user has been blocked for 3 months like the other accounts were. We should be prepared to put the gallery's URL on the blacklist the very next time anyone touts it, regardless of how long in the future that may be. Railway line

[edit]

Imphal#By train says "However, a railway station for Imphal is being built and the new line is expected to be completed by the year 2020." – as it's 2022 now, is it open yet? --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 12:24, 8 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

SHB2000 No, the railway line hasn't reached Imphal as of now. For there are many reasons, some/most people of Manipur don't want railway connectivity. So, the construction process of the railway line is always interrupted by one factor or another. As of now, 2024 is the postponed year and it's also an expectation (not certain) to connect railway line to Imphal. Lol! Haoreima (talk) 12:30, 8 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
