I don't like this disambiguation page without explanations, and having a Kamikawa (Kamikawa) article - again, with no explanation for the parentheses in the article - is weird and not good, in my opinion. I'd welcome remarks from Markseid, JRHorse and anyone else who has an opinion. I think Kamikawa (city) is a much more reasonable name for the city article in question, and both names need to have very brief explanatory entries like other straightforward disambiguation pages. There is technically a Kamikawa Town and a Kamikawa Subprefecture, but I think the former would be more useful for Wikivoyage purposes. Could a distinguish tag be used at the top of the town/city article to connect Kamikawa Subprefecture to the Northern Circuit article? JRHorse (talk) 13:51, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't notice that the Kamikawa (Kamikawa) has no IsPartOf. It needs one. Kamikawa (subprefecture) currently redirects to Northern Circuit. Do you feel like it would be better for us to treat Kamikawa (subprefecture) as a city article, rename Kamikawa (Kamikawa) so that it becomes the subprefecture article, and get rid of this disambig page because the city page will be redirected to the subprefecture page after the move? Since Kamikawa Subprefecture includes the cities of Asahikawa, Nayoro, etc, I honestly think Kamikawa in general should have the details from Kamikawa (Kamikawa) merged into it. JRHorse (talk) 14:32, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Why shouldn't those cities have different articles, in your opinion? Ikan Kekek (talk) 15:33, 21 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps I should have said that Kamikawa Subprefecture is a part of the Northern Circuit? So perhaps to the novice traveler it would make sense to have one article named Kamikawa about the town. JRHorse (talk) 01:27, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
OK. So how should we do this? Right now, Kamikawa is this disambig page, Kamikawa (subprefecture) redirects to Northern Circuit and the article for the town is Kamikawa (Kamikawa). It's simplest to rename Kamikawa (Kamikawa) Kamikawa (city) and keep the disambig page, but I'd be happy to consider other options if there are good reasons to do something else. I have renamed the town to Kamikawa (Hokkaidō) as Hokkaido is the highest level region that does not have a town of the same name. Also added other towns of the same name but in different Prefecture to this disambiguation page, currently red links which is fine. Also created a few indented lines to show the districts in different Subprefectures of Hokkaidō to hopefully make clear the what is a little confusing. Do not expect these will become subregions so have not created red links for them. (Some additional comments at User talk:Markseid) --Traveler100 (talk) 08:12, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. Thanks JRHorse (talk) 13:45, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
