Institute of Jamaica[edit]

I've removed this from the listings, because (from reading the website) it appears as though the institute itself is not a museum but that it overseas many of the city's museums:

  • Institute of Jamaica, 12 East St., Phone: +1 876-922-0620. M-Th 9:30AM-5PM, F 9:30AM-4PM. Home to the museums of Jamaican national and West Indian history, art galleries and a West Indian Reference Library with the world's largest collection of its kind.

If the institute itself is a museum or an attraction that can be visited, feel free to add it back to the article. (WT-en) ChubbyWimbus 02:58, 4 December 2009 (EST)

Terminology[edit]

Can persons please stop calling the residential areas of Jamaica suburbs. We don't call them suburbs. There is town - uptown and downtown, and country. Also other classifications but no suburbs. If the writers would like to make persons understand what a local would mean by uptown and downtown, then explain, but don't call it something that it is not called by persons who live there. Maybe the writer did not know this or is more familiar with their own terminology, but persons should learn how citizens of the actual country describe where they live.

Destination of the Month?[edit]

We had very few features from the Caribbean. Would this article be good enough for a Destination of the Month? Or is something missing? /Yvwv (talk) 19:14, 9 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
