List of connections

[edit]

Do we need it? One can go to the airport's website and check it, if they REALLY need to. Otherwise, people will be reading this guide not as much because they want to go to Manchester Airport and have to find a way to get there, but rather because they will be passing through on their way and look for advice on how to make it a problem-free experience. Although connection information is rather key to airports, I'd agree that the level of detail here is liable to change over time and better referred to on the airport website. --Andrewssi2 (talk) 05:02, 23 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

List of destinations

[edit]

There is a long list of destinations that may or may not be accurate. Can we reduce it to hub airlines and general countries / continents served? Andrewssi2 (talk) 05:03, 23 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Again, what is wrong in directing the reader to check that with the airport's website? We can mention that Manchester has quite a lot intercontinental connections for an airport that is not serving a country capital in Europe and is served by a high number of major flag carriers, as well as low-fare P2Ps, but I wouldn't go into details. Good plan - will do! --Nick talk 23:09, 25 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

This is our page banner! I've downloaded the image to my phone just in case it gets deleted immediately. The reason given on the nomination is that the original source file has been deleted from Flickr, so its "copyright status is unclear". I'm not sufficiently confident with Commons procedure and policy to successfully mount a defence over there, but I do think this image is important enough to be uploaded locally, as suggested by user:Ikan Kekek on (I think) Talk:France. That is unless someone wants to try to prevent it being deleted from Commons?--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 18:01, 3 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
I have now downloaded to my desktop, which will be more conducive to local upload.--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 19:44, 3 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
I have given an explanation of why it should be kept, as it is derived from an image with a confirmed Flickr licence. If it is deleted, a similar replacement can be cropped from Commons:File:Manchester Airport Panorama September 2014.jpg, and here are 1000s of other images to choose from. After a long delay the file was deleted on commons, after the source image was deleted. I have uploaded a similar replacement, but feel free to find something better. AlasdairW (talk) 14:09, 21 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
Like I said, I've kept the original so can re-upload if necessary.--ThunderingTyphoons! (talk) 16:14, 21 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
