Merge?

This place is described as a small village in the lede already. I have never heard of this place and I lived within a day's march of Forchheim for quite some time. So unless I am exceedingly ignorant of the touristic wonder that is Mespelbrunn (and this article does not convince me of that possibility), I have to ask: What is this article doing other than raising the number contained in the "outline city" category by one?
