"Understand"[edit]

I believe the sentence, "The park was created in 1974, although it has since been expanded from its original size" is roughly based on information on Wikipedia. Should the content be removed or should a citation be added above? It is not a direct copy by any means, but very general info. --Comment by Selfie City (talk | contributions) 22:24, 6 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If it is copied directly, there should be attribution (rather than deletion). If it is paraphrased, it could be from Wikipedia or somewhere else. This is public information. There is nothing copyrightable about it, so we don't have an issue. See also Wikivoyage:Cooperating with Wikipedia. Ground Zero (talk) 23:18, 6 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
OK. It's just that, when I first edited here, I didn't understand the whole copyleft/copyright thing, so sometimes I made edits that didn't go along with these. --Comment by Selfie City (talk | contributions) 00:31, 7 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
