removal of details on Fanari

[edit]

(WT-en) OldPine, may I ask for the reasons to removal of many details on Fanari Villas? I believe all of them are helpful for traveller (and I can explain why, for every removed piece). And we are not too short of space in the article to count every single line. I can find acceptable to move some details to a separate page, but I vote strongly against total removal of them. --(WT-en) DenisYurkin 18:27, 10 July 2007 (EDT)

You may have (in your mind) justification, but we all must adhere to the Manual of Style as it provides a uniform look to the travel guides. In this case, Project:Accommodation listings indicates that from 1 to 3 sentences should be used to describe accommodations. The listing as I found it was a rather rambling, detailed account of Fanari. Although this page might accomodate it, I believe that what you had there belongs more on Wikivoyage Extra (see link at left), which is for people's personal comments and observations. Thanks for recommending a place to discuss; I left my question there: Project:Accommodation listings#more details than 1-3 sentences per establishment. I would appreciate your ideas there. --(WT-en) DenisYurkin 16:45, 13 July 2007 (EDT)

The correct English spelling is Oia

[edit]

For the Romanization of Greek there exists the ELOT 743 / BGN-PCGN 1996 agreement, which was "approved for international use at the Fifth United Nations Conference on the Standardization of Geographical Names in 1987." [] This should be also used in this case. It avoids different spellings of geographical names, which would lead to great confusions. Please note, that the "right" spelling is already used in the standard Wikipedia site for Oia. [] I hope, that there is someone, who knows, how to move the site to "Oia". --LeoM49 (talk) 08:59, 13 March 2018 (UTC)Reply

I'm not sure why no-one paid attention to this until now. I will move the article accordingly. Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:46, 8 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
I needed to add the country name as a disambiguation: see Oia. Ikan Kekek (talk) 21:48, 8 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

What does this article need to become a featured destination? /Yvwv (talk) 16:29, 12 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
