Talk:Rioni Region
Article name
[edit]Why is this called "Rioni Region"? It is clear from Wikipedia that it is called "w:Imereti Region". Is there any objection to moving it? Ground Zero (talk) 12:45, 15 October 2021 (UTC)
- I think this can be moved without discussion. I'm not too sure either. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 12:48, 15 October 2021 (UTC)
- I'm mistaken. Wikivoyage's Rioni Region is composed of Georgia's Imereti region and Racha region. I withdraw my proposal.mGround Zero (talk) 12:51, 15 October 2021 (UTC)
No, you are right. This is - as far as I know - a fantasy "region". It does not exist, and is a misleading invention. If one wants to grab together two official regions (comparable to provinces) in one page ("Racha-Lechkhumi and Lower Svaneti" and "Imereti") then make that clear in the page and don't invent names that bear no actual existence in Georgian or any use. The combination is odd as both regions are geographically distinct, and as one can deduct from the name, the first has more to do with Upper Svaneti. I'd quickly say combine those and have Imereti separate. Labrang (talk) 15:28, 29 September 2022 (UTC)
