- Do you really mean the San Fernando Valley is part of Greater Los Angeles? I think there are too many other cities in the valley for you to mean it is part of the City of Los Angeles. If so, the article says that. -- (WT-en) Huttite 18:27, 5 Jan 2006 (EST)
- Actually that's almost correct, almost all of the valley is comprised of districts of LA city, not cities themselves... the only exceptions are Glendale, Burbank, Calabasas, Hidden Hills and the city of San Fernando, which is a pretty small slice of the SFV. Here's a good map. I was going to update the page and put the rest of the listings under "Other destinations", but figured maybe I should discuss that first... Organization[edit]
Per Cacahuate's six-year old suggestion above, I'd like to suggest merging some of these neighborhood articles. Most of the neighborhoods in the valley has nothing (or next to nothing) to offer travelers, so I want to put forward a proposal to whittle down the current list of 33 cities to 11, based on the existing amount of content in these articles:
- Burbank
- Calabasas (includes Hidden Hills)
- Chatsworth (includes Porter Ranch)
- Encino
- North Hollywood (includes Toluca Lake and Valley Village)
- North Hills (includes Arleta, Granada Hills, Lakeview Terrace, Mission Hills, Northridge, Pacoima, Panorama City, San Fernando, Sun Valley, Sunland, Sylmar and Tujunga)
- Sherman Oaks
- Studio City
- Universal City
- Van Nuys
- West Hills (includes Canoga Park, Reseda, Tarzana, Winnetka and Woodland Hills)
The North Hills one definitely merges the most; there's just not much out there! PerryPlanet (talk) 06:23, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
- Well, I went ahead with my layout, although I used the terms "North Valley" and "South Valley" (both of which come from Google Maps) for the two larger regions, and tossed Encino in with South Valley, given how little content was on that page. So we're down to 10 articles now. PerryPlanet (talk) 03:50, 7 June 2013 (UTC)
