Talk:San Salvador
I moved this article from San Salvador city to San Salvador because San Salvador city was an orphaned page and not linked into the wiki, because it had been created from Main Page, in violation of conventions, and hence removed from there. Also San Salvador is the most common English name and follows the Project:Article naming conventions. If there is a need to disambiguate the city from it's department then the page should move to San Salvador (city), once the department article is written and San Salvador will need to become a disambiguation page. -- (WT-en) Huttite 00:39, 3 Jul 2005 (EDT)
A bit over the top?
[edit]Does anybody else find the language in this artcle to be just a little too breathless? Aren't there some other great cities in Central America? I do really appreciate that somebody has contributed this article, but maybe some editor would like to tone it down a bit... ;)
I'd also like to have some listings, especially for those wonderful hotels and restaurants. -- (WT-en) Mark 11:25, 3 Jul 2005 (EDT)
- Agreed. --(WT-en) Evan 12:28, 3 Jul 2005 (EDT)
- There's a first stab at copyediting, rearranging things a bit to use the Project:Big city article template and toning down a few paragraphs. I didn't read through the whole article, so anyone else who wants to have a go at some of the other sections, dive in. -- (WT-en) Wrh2 22:00, 3 Jul 2005 (EDT)
Aquarium
[edit]Donde encontraron la informacion del acuario? de verdad se va hacer?
Where did you find the info on the aquarium? I wanna know more about it.
Just a small comment about the satellite photo
[edit]Only one little thing: I think that the photo is reversed (the city is at the left of the lake - that would be Ilopango lake)...
- Isn't the ocean south of the country though?
- Ohh I get it now... I'll fix it. (WT-en) Guanaco152003 23:43, 3 June 2006 (EDT)
El YUCKO!
[edit]If the best advice on budget eats is greasy gross fast food pits, I think I'd rather starve to death than endure a trip to this city. Surely there must be some good, enticing LOCALLY owned restaurants with genuine Central American flavors and colors that offer better quality, an authentic TRAVEL experience, *AND* low prices. Lord knows I find them everywhere else in Latin America!! (WT-en) Mrkstvns 21:00, 7 May 2008 (CDT)
Supermarkets and Retail Stores
[edit]There was a list of supermarkets and other retail stores in the 'splurge' category of 'eat'. It didnt seem to fit, so I made a category under 'buy', and moved the list. (WT-en) TomNativenewYorker 07:39, 16 June 2009 (EDT)
