Current

The new banner is clearly of higher technical quality, but I prefer the scene in the current banner and find it more typical of Terengganu than a picture of Redang Island Resort with tourist bungalows and a white woman in a sleeveless dress (spoken as a former resident of Terengganu, though it's true that I haven't been back to visit since 2003). Okay, I'd trust your former local knowledge as I've never been to Eastern Peninsular Malaysia, so you'd know much more about here. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 07:28, 25 September 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Ikan Kekek: so given that I now oppose the banner change, I guess it's now then Not done? SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 11:19, 28 September 2021 (UTC)Reply

January 14

[edit]

A quick look at de:Terengganu shows that January 14 is a regional holiday called Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan with a machine translated description of "The birthday of the state ruler". I think it should be mentioned, but before mentioning it, I'd like to know whether if it's just a holiday that the inhabitants of Terengganu celebrate among themselves, or whether it is a public holiday. --SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta.wikimedia) 09:59, 19 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

That looks like some confusion. Negeri Sembilan is a completely different state, and people in Terengganu wouldn't celebrate the birthday of their Yang di-Pertuan Besar. Are you thinking of the birthday of the Sultan of Terengganu, perhaps? I don't remember getting off school because of his birthday, but then again, his birthday might have been during the monsoon season, which it was impossible to go to school, anyway. Kelantan claims keropok lekor as Kelantanese?

[edit]

First I've heard of it. It's the most famous Terengganu-style food item. Ikan Kekek (talk) 08:39, 13 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
