I can see a topic about water. It's a quite important thing when travelling. But how do you envision the list per country? Won't that be a terribly long list? JuliasTravels (talk) 20:44, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
- Might be worth mentioning (from w:Drinking_water) that "In most developed countries, the water supplied to households, commerce and industry meets drinking water standards". -- WOSlinker (talk) 23:02, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, it would be rather long! There is also the concern that perhaps this information may better belong in each individual country article. I added an 'experimental' tag for now to help define this.
- I'm thinking maybe the list could be helped by using regions instead of countries where possible. The European Union (20+ countries) has uniform quality standards for example.
- Also although water quality can be measured, its effect on individuals varies widely. A Canadian visiting South America will not have much tolerance to bacteria in the water, whereas someone who has lived in South Asia may have built sufficient tolerance. A 'per country' guide cannot easily reflect this.
- Therefore I would like to make this more general. --Andrewssi2 (talk) 23:26, 30 September 2014 (UTC)
- I added info about the US and Italy before reading this. I'm not sure a long list would be terrible, but if you'd rather describe regions, rather than each country, that's fine, too. I certainly think this article is important and in scope, though. "Is it safe to drink the water" is a completely obvious and, as Julia said, important question for each place one plans to visit. - Maybe we could even combine it. Take regions where the situation is basically the same for several countries and just mention cases that are different separately. I see no reason to place the experimental tag either. As far as I'm concerned, the topic is clearly within scope, we're just talking about the structure. "Experiment" tag
[edit]Does anyone object to removing that tag? This topic is clearly within scope; don't you agree? Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:09, 7 October 2014 (UTC)
- You're right. Since no-one has questioned the scope of the topic so far, I've plunged ahead and removed the experimental tag. JuliasTravels (talk) 19:45, 7 October 2014 (UTC)
- Great! Thanks :) --Andrewssi2 (talk) 21:44, 22 October 2014 (UTC)
Info per country
[edit]It seems that the discussion at Talk:Tipping is relevant for deciding any structure here. Just a thought. JuliasTravels (talk) 15:39, 8 November 2014 (UTC)
