Murrumbateman wine tasting

[edit]

Canberra/Hall#Drink says "There are many places to go wine-tasting surrounding Hall, but only one within Hall. The rest are in Murrumbateman and surrounds but in New South Wales, and hence not covered in this article.

Murrumbateman redlinks in the routebox, but Yass is the next stop. Should Murrumbateman wine tasting be covered here until Murrumbateman gets its own article? Or is it important enough that it should have an article created right away? It has some 3,200 inhabitants according to Wikipedia, which doesn't seem that much. Should this article cover the Yass Valley Shire and not just Yass itself?

I've actually thought about this for some time, also because it's a redlink in Canberra#Geography and the fact that I've never been to Murrumbateman doesn't help either. It could be covered in Canberra/Hall, but Ground Zero's convinced me at Talk:Blanc-Sablon that articles cross provincial boundaries can be confusing (in this case, the state/territorial boundary), so I do see merit covering all the wineries in this article. As you mention, the town is reasonably large enough to have its own article, but I don't know what the town will be like at the end of next year once the Barton Highway is duplicated. It could end up like Collector which looks like this from the Federal Highway, or the town could look completely different – right now, an article about Murrumbateman would focus more on the surrounding wineries rather than the town, but it might focus more on the town after the upgrades are complete (it's likely the town will grow like all those that grew when the Pacific Highway was upgraded to the Pacific Motorway). So ultimately, I don't really know. We could make a start or simply cover all the wineries in this article. SHB2000 (talk | contribs | meta) 07:21, 26 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
