[edit]Does anyone call it York? I always think of it as "York Region", to distinguish it from the other Yorks in the Toronto area (the former City of York, North York, East York, Yorkville, Yorkdale, Yorkview, York Mills, York University, the Royal York....) @TheTrolleyPole:. - Agreed. Way too much potential for confusion. -- AndreCarrotflower (talk) 01:43, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
- "York Region" is the name I see in the press and for regional institutions (e.g. w:York Region Transit). Wikipedia says w:York Region or more formally w:Regional Municipality of York. One says "York Region" like one says w:Waterloo Region to avoid the ambiguity, if the word "region" is dropped. There use to be a w:York County, Ontario, which ultimately split into Toronto and York Region. TheTrolleyPole (talk) 01:55, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
- Agreed, per others. --Comment by Selfie City (talk | contributions) 16:13, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
