Places you hate[edit]

I had been planning to go to Kuala Lumpur sometime in the future, but if there's something you hate about it maybe I should reconsider my plans? I've been to Brussels and I don't understand what you hate about it.(WT-en) Sevan

Is the SVG map of Guyana available?[edit]

Hi Burmesedays, I'm currently translating country maps for the French version. Thanks a lot for all the maps you've made: fantastic job (and probably very time-consuming)! For Guyana, I can only find the PNG version but no SVG. Do you still have the original? If yes, could you upload it? By the way, (for message above), I loved Kuala Lumpur: a good compromise between traditional and modern Asia to me but it takes all sorts to make a world :) (WT-en) Joelf 00:44, 11 January 2011 (EST)

Joelf for some reason I do not have the Guyana SVG to hand. I think it must be on my office computer and I will upload in next 24 hours or so. You like KL? It takes all sorts :) :) Cheers. --(WT-en) Burmesedays 11:05, 24 April 2011 (EDT)
It looks to me like you haven't been to Belgium, so you can't advise me on that. Assuming my interpretation of French is right. My French is terrible. (WT-en) Sevan

Image:Bali-Kuta-Map.png - erratum...[edit]

Hi there!

Just been informed that the location of Bali Sorgawi Hotel is actually between Aromas Cafe (Eating Venue Number 1) and Kuta Lagoon Resort (Sleep Number 10). Cheers, and prosperity in the year of the Rabbit. Thanks

Thanks for that. I will be updating the Kuta map and the rest of Bali maps over the next month or two, and will be sure to note your comment.--(WT-en) Burmesedays 09:28, 25 April 2011 (EDT)

MIA[edit]

Friends, for reasons I will not bore you with, I have been MIA for far too long from Wikivoyage. I hope that can now change and I will be around a bit more often again. Lots of queries for me to deal with here and on various article talk pages and I will get around to them all in time. --(WT-en) Burmesedays 10:15, 24 April 2011 (EDT)

Great to see you back, --(WT-en) ClausHansen 10:20, 24 April 2011 (EDT)
Thanks Claus. Geez it has been a long time and it feels really good to be typing here again. --(WT-en) Burmesedays 10:23, 24 April 2011 (EDT)
Hey, great to see you back. Your presence has been greatly missed. Selamat kembali to the Indonesian articles and many others as well that have been sadly lacking for your watchful eye. -- (WT-en) felix 10:47, 24 April 2011 (EDT)

Nusa Lembongan[edit]

Hi, it's great to see the Nusa Lembongan getting some attention. think that article might have been missing you. It has copped a fair bit of abuse lately and certainly needs a good looking over. -- (WT-en) felix 15:19, 13 May 2011 (EDT)

Yep it has Felix. This is the first article I ever did any work on at WT and it means a lot to me so I will be keeping a very keen eye on it again! --(WT-en) Burmesedays 23:48, 13 May 2011 (EDT)
Good to see it back in capable hands. I will try and keep an eye on it as well as there seem to be some quite keen and persistent opportunists engaged there. They have quietened down a bit now but apparently still require daily scrutiny. Maybe they saw you were back. -- (WT-en) felix 23:56, 13 May 2011 (EDT)
Indeed. This article has always been the target of persistent touts. A quick Google search reveals why - it is ranked one on just about any sensible search term about the island. --(WT-en) Burmesedays 09:01, 15 May 2011 (EDT)

Galapagos[edit]

Hi, I added an entry here http://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Galapagos_Islands a moment ago which you have taken out. The comment was 'UK Based Travel Company'. I am sorry if I have submitted our site in error, but I thought it would be valid for the page/category/heading and in keeping with the other sites listed. I may have made some sort of fundemental error and in which case I am sorry, but are UK based companies not allowed to be present on this page? Many thanks, Rob

Hi Rob. A travel agent offering tours is covered by our policies on tour listings. You will see that a key criteria there is a real world office in the location (or stretching it a bit, the country) where the tour is offered. Travel agents generally are not linked to at all from Wikivoyage as per don't link to secondary sources. I hope that helps clarify a bit for you. --(WT-en) Burmesedays 08:52, 1 June 2011 (EDT)
Many thanks for the information and also the time you have spent on my request so far. We would really like to be included on this page. However, I appreciate the spirit in which wikis are protected for everyone's good and if you still feel that we do not warrant inclusion, I shall not bother you again. The only extra information I can give is that we do have a ground office in Ecuador (http://www.abercrombiekent.co.uk/aboutus/groundoffices/ecuador.cfm) and many elements of our trips are only available through us (which is another of the main criteria that I noticed). For instance we have recently launched an exclusive tour with notable zoologist Mark Carwardine (http://www.markcarwardine.com/about.php)- http://www.abercrombiekent.co.uk/ecuadorandgalapagosislands/thegalapagosislands/galapagos-markcarwardine.cfm. Again, sorry for taking up more of your time, but I hope this extra information may put us on a more even footing with some of the travel companies already listed in the 'splurge' section. Best wishes, Rob

Care to take another look at that, see if it is ready for a star nomination, and either comment on what it needs or make the nomination?

I'm the sole author so far, so cannot see it objectively. Also, I nominated another I'd worked on, Teaching English, as a possibility for our first star travel topic and that failed, so I'm a bit reluctant to risk it again. (WT-en) Pashley 04:24, 4 June 2011 (EDT)

I have been watching this one hatch with some interest. I think it is close to being more than worthy of a nomination, and very well done to date. Just a couple of comments:
  • One little formating issue which is sure to come under scrutiny is the use of front-links which are positively discouraged in our MoS. For example International Living should really be International Living [1]
  • Instinctively I feel that the article would benefit from a medical section - the need for evacuation insurance in many less developed countries etc. For many retired folks this would be a major issue I feel. --(WT-en) Burmesedays 04:37, 4 June 2011 (EDT)
I fixed those, though the "health" section I added is fairly sketchy. (WT-en) Pashley 05:24, 5 June 2011 (EDT)

Xiali1208 user ban nomination[edit]

I'm about to delete another prostitution ad from that user's user talk page. I don't know how to nominate a user to be banned, but if you nominate and put a link on my user talk page, I'll gladly second.

All the best,

time formats revisited[edit]

Given your interest in the time formats discussion and/or the star nomination that was almost sidelined over this matter, I thought I should let you know I've reopened the discussion. Hopefully (unlikely perhaps, but hopefully) we can reach a more definitive conclusion on this matter. (WT-en) PerryPlanet Talk 00:45, 23 June 2011 (EDT)

Why deleted?[edit]

One of my interest is Botanical Gardens. So, I know that the Royal Botanical Garden (combine of two parks) in London is the best in UK. Alas, when I went to London, I missed the Botanical Garden. My question is why you delete my contribution in Bedugul article. In last one month I have visited Bedugul and Cibodas, certainly it is not the first visit and also for the other Botanical Gardens. I want to know the reason because I recently write the tourist activities, so I need learn more. Thank you so much for your attention. Best Regards from Gsarwa. (WT-en) Gsarwa 04:01, 6 July 2011 (EDT)

Hi Burmesdays, Yes that was a rather untidy piece of editing, or rather it was a bit too tidy. Leaving just the one Sleep listing there and deleting the rest of the article was a bit out of order. Truth is I was fighting with a new release of firefox for mac (the new v.5 .0 is not yet stable). I left you a note on my Talk page. Thanks for noticing and for letting me know. I fixed it after getting the app re-started and the page finally reloaded. cheers -- (WT-en) felix 23:44, 8 July 2011 (EDT)

Nice work Burmesedays on cleaning up the Senggigi article formatting and content. It looks a lot better and flows a lot better now. I had been meaning to tidy up the balance of the messy formatting including those sub-section headers for a while and just never seemed to get to it. I have also been intending to do a bit of an update on the content and your suggestions on the Plaza and Square are a good idea. I am in Jakarta at the moment but when I get back to Lombok I am going to pay it some attention as it has been slipping a bit behind. The region is rising up a bit at the moment and there have been some new entrants in especially in the accom, restaurant and nightlife categories. The Tanjung article needs some new info put into it as well but I want to do a proper survey on the ground so I get it right. Well done. -- (WT-en) felix 13:59, 9 July 2011 (EDT)

Hi Burmesedays, I have just performed an article wide review of Mount Rinjani. As this is an article of enduring interest to you I am hoping you might run your eyes over my recent edits to ensure a fresh eye is applied to my activities there. There have been some ongoing confusions with travellers properly identifying reputable trek providers and I understand the issue of hijacks of bookings and pre- payments still prevails. I have also attempted to address the guide and tout issues at the waterfall as this is an ever escalating problem there with some quite vigorous extortion of fees from outside guides and drivers and stand over tactics toward both visitors and the people taking them there. I also moved the eruption image up higher in the article as I felt it looked a bit odd at the bottom after my addition of the {{infoboxes}}. I did an article wide spell check and made a few minor edits outside the Do section. However the main area I worked on was the Do section. Rinjani Trekking Club seems to have been the main target of the booking and payment hijacks as the perpetrator uses a mimicking name and logo. That individual is active across NTB and although there seems to be a focus on Gili Islands fast boat services, Lombok accommodation and Rinjani treks I do note that he meddles about in the Komodo and Sulawesi region as well. It appears to me that some of the recent corrective edits to the trekking providers have arisen from one of the principal victims using alternative trading names to re-brand and I suppose this may be an attempt to overcome some of the issues that have developed from the several years of disruption caused by the hijack activities. I have sent the person concerned a hopefully polite and supportive email with a please explain and an request to be more focussed and WT policy and guideline compliant here. I believe he, (or his associates) may be responsible for the recent problems with edits to the provider listings in the Senggigi and Mount Rinjani articles. I have attempted to address some of these ongoing contribution issues with my recent Mount Rinjani edits. I would value your input on this if you think any of the recent changes are less than appropriate. Thanks -- (WT-en) felix 08:21, 10 July 2011 (EDT)

Thanks for that Felix. The article looks in better shape now. Be a bit careful though about the potential over-use of warning boxes. Hijacking touts are just a fact of life I am afraid, and we can only do our best to keep an eye on things. --(WT-en) Burmesedays 09:03, 10 July 2011 (EDT)
Yes, your comments on the warning boxes are right on the money, that was indeed my main concern regarding my recent revision. If you feel any of that content would be better placed into the main article text then please make any adjustments you think appropriate, I certainly defer to your lead on that as I think you have a more developed feel for that sort of thing. Sometimes they declutter, sometimes they can do the opposite. Do please go ahead and make any further changes you think more appropriate, especially if you think the info boxes are over used. Thankfully the hijack and antics there pale in comparison to my favorites on the West Bengal articles, in regard to Lombok most of that activity is fortunately only occurring off article. -- (WT-en) felix 12:37, 10 July 2011 (EDT)

Hi, I have just had an edit conflict with you at Lombok, as my edit was article wide I overwrote your recent but apparently more contained edits. I will be scratching your changes out of the histories and reapplying them in a few minutes. Perhaps then you might like to check over the article to make sure I did not miss anything. -- my apologies of course for the over-write-- (WT-en) felix 11:10, 10 July 2011 (EDT)

Hi again, the overwrites have been dealt with (I hope) and some further trims and adjustments made as per your own edits and my previous article review. I will stop editing there so you can have a look and make any further adjustments you think are appropriate. BTY, I think it would be prudent to set up a sandpit somewhere to work up the requirements of the new airport as it will no doubt open will surely finally open in the not too distant future. I must comment though that despite all the bluster the last time I looked at it there was still a long way to go before it is ready for scheduled operations of any kind. -- (WT-en) felix 12:26, 10 July 2011 (EDT)

Hello, I think the airport shown on the map of Lombok must be the old one, because it is nowhere near Praya. Do you mind updating it? Thanks. -random person thankful for your Lombok info for use in my vacation planning

Sundarbans National Park[edit]

Hi, I have tried to make you understand the need for agents to be listed considering the inconveniences faced by people visiting the Sundarbans and request you to revert the deletion made by you. Even news articles confirm the fact that there are not many choices for accomodation as well as the fact that the Govt run accomodation is in shambles and one has to run from pillar to post to get the bookings. Besides, as I pointed out prior permission is required from the Forest Deptt to visit the core areas. So does one have the time to collect the same personally always???

please consider the gravity of the situation and allow the listings.

Besides, as I told you the other two accomodation options do not allow "Room only". you have to accept their package costs. So what wrong have other agents done that their names have been removed ? please consider the situation

(WT-en) chourasia 23:09, 22 July 2011 (EDT)Chourasia

Yep, you have already made your case at Talk:Sundarbans National Park. Would be helpful if more opinions were forthcoming on this from actual travelers rather than the travel agents involved.--(WT-en) Burmesedays 03:33, 23 July 2011 (EDT)

Map of Iceland[edit]

Hello, and thanks for the welcome messege you left on my talk page recently.

I was looking at the map indicating regions in the Iceland article, and saw you're the one who made it. There are a few things that seem a bit strange about it to me, as a native, and I was wondering if you could change them - I'd love to do it myself, but I don't have the software (or the source file of the map). Mainly, they have to do with the towns you chose to put on there:

  • Vatneyri, I strongly suspect, is only a farm. This is an all-to-frequent type of error found on foreign-made maps made of Iceland, mistaking farms for villages. It would be more appropriate to indicate either Bíldudalur (the village where most flights to the region go) or Patreksfjörður (the biggest town on the southern West Fjords).
  • Egilstaðir are conspicuously missing from eastern Iceland, despite being the biggest town in the region and the gateway to the East Fjords for most tourists.
  • Stykkishólmur, similarly, is the main town on Snæfellsnes (the big peninsula in the western region), but instead you've put in the smaller village of Hellissandur. Nothing wrong with showing Hellissandur on the map, it's a beautiful place, but Stykkishólmur needs to be there. In addition to being the main town, it's also the place where ferries leave to cross Breiðafjörður or to visit its islands (the large island-filled bay between Snæfellsnes and the West Fjords).
  • Selfoss is by far the largest town in the South. Indicating it may not be too important for tourists, as it's not a big destination (too close to Reykjavík), but it is one of the biggest towns in the country and should thus in my opinion be there. However, despite being the main town of the South, it would actually fall within the South West region on your map. Which brings me to the last point:
  • The south west region is larger than most Icelanders would consider it. It's not inaccurate as such, and it may be useful for tourists to have it this way because it currently indicates the distance of easy day-trips from Reykjavík, but it looks a bit strange and if I were making the map, I'd move the northern border of the South West region down to the next fjord (Hvalfjörður) and the western border to the west of Þingvellir. The Western region would then cover all of Borgarfjarðarsýsla (in blue) and the Southern region would cover all of Árnessýsla (in orange), as seen on this map of Iceland's counties: [2] I apologise if there was a discussion on this somewhere, I couldn't find one, so I thought I'd at least point it out to you.

All the best, --(WT-en) sterio 04:38, 24 July 2011 (EDT)

Some really excellent feedback there - thank you. This map has certainly lacked that very thing. Please see Talk:Iceland#Other_destinations which has been the only discussion on this map to date. I will copy your message to the Talk:Iceland page as I think it better than any discussion continues there.--(WT-en) Burmesedays 06:00, 24 July 2011 (EDT)

Maluku map[edit]

Would you mind if I claimed the Maluku map? It's an area I'm fascinated by, and after obtaining my bareboat chartering certification this year, am thinking seriously about cruising around for a couple months. --(WT-en) Peter Talk 10:29, 26 July 2011 (EDT)

Whoa! That's about as off-the-beaten track as it gets Peter - great to hear. I have been to Halmahera, Ternate and Ambon, and would love one day to get out to the Bandas, Aru Islands, Seram etc. Of course, please do take the map. I will continue with trying to structure the region article - it is a very complex one due to myriad island groups. I guess I am probably more familiar with that region that anyone else at WT, so very happy to do that work in advance of your drawing the map. --(WT-en) Burmesedays 10:48, 26 July 2011 (EDT)

thanks! (from Siung99)[edit]

Thanks for your support Burmesedays! I have actually contributed some articles (Trawas, Pacet, Tretes) but unfortunately no one has plunged forward ever since (the 'anonymous users' that did the last editing was actually myself, but i didn't log in). recently i also revised the Salatiga page (without logging in, though), i know a bit about this town as i grew up there.(WT-en) Siung99 11:28, 26 July 2011 (EDT)

Hi Burmesedays, that Dharamsala article was truly a mess and it appears you have also just performed a significant edit on it. It is a pity you did not revert back to my last version though as it now still contains a whole pile of POV and highly subjective commentary. Also the IP that reverted my edits twice managed to reinstate all the badly formatted prices, addresses, US EN spelling into an ex-British colony (therefore a UK EN appropriate article), non-WT time formats, XXXX meters (X,XXX m), rampant outbreaks of Capitalisation For Emphasis, URL repeats in listings and other general untidiness, a lot of which has still prevailed despite your own considerable efforts to get the article back into order. Not only did that IP accuse me of "vandalism" but they reverted an article wide review with one revert. You now appear to have gone over it and redone a lot of the work I had already done. Sometimes I do wonder what motivates these people. That pest undid a considerable amount of work that now needs to be all done again. Good work applying the listing formatting to so much of the content. The phone numbers are still rather messy, as are the Rp prices, times and similar. I think the volume of work you have now done on the content the IP reverted back into the article now makes a time waste to go back to my recent version as a starting point so your last version now needs much of that editing applied all over again so as not to then dump your own recent considerable work on the article. It looks like random silliness has prevailed again. I wonder at ties just what it is that infects the Indian articles, it is not just the local Indian editors that act silly there, apparently people from outside the region want to have a good swing at crazy editing as well. cheers --(WT-en) felix 06:13, 28 July 2011 (EDT)

I actually did not spot that mass reversion Felix. Apologies. Rather, I just saw an incredibly messy article. Yes, I think it would be too late now to go back to your last version. I have done a lot of work up to the Eat section, so perhaps start from there if you wish too. The Eat and Sleep sections are very messy indeed, as were See and Do which now look better.--(WT-en) Burmesedays 06:24, 28 July 2011 (EDT)
Yes, you have taken it forward too far to go back, I will be able to scratch some of the previous reverted edits out of the histories but most of it will be the regular grinding line by line clean up. Certainly not your fault though, really I should have detailed the edit notes more thoroughly, I started out just doing a minor edit to undo the 1st revert by the IP but then saw what an absolute mess the article was in and just pressed on. I left it still with a lot of work to do, such as that you addressed with some of your re-structuring. I think it would be easier to just work back through from your recent review. Yes, See and Do have some sense about the sections now. BTY, I cannot seem to get the breadcrumb working, maybe you might like to have a stab at it. I have tried using {{isPartOf|Himachal Pradesh}}but it does not seem to work.-- (WT-en) felix 06:32, 28 July 2011 (EDT)
  • {{IsPartOf|Kangra (district)}} Yes, that is what it needed. -- thanks (WT-en) felix 06:40, 28 July 2011 (EDT)
Did you do any editing on the Sleep and Eat sections? If not I might just dump edit them in again as a starting point to save some work. As far as I can see you have not done anything significant from and including the "Work" section down (with the exception of Stay safe) so I might just dump the prior edit back in to the article. Let me know if I have overwritten anything of your s though. -- (WT-en) felix 06:38, 28 July 2011 (EDT)
I have done almost nothing on the Sleep and Eat sections. So, yes by all means copy your last version of those sections into the current article. I am sure that will save a lot of time. Try to do it section at a time with an edit note please so that other users know what is going on. On {{IsPartOf|)}} - it should have an initial capital I. Try to avoid IsIn altogether as it has been superceded. Cheers. --(WT-en) Burmesedays 06:48, 28 July 2011 (EDT)
Thanks for the notes on "Isin", I was a bit confused about that. I have gone through the whole article again and reinstated my previous edits. Perhaps you can look over it with a fresh eye as mine are a bit bleary from the confusion of the scattered edits. Some of the listings still need <listing> formatting applied but they have at least now been (re)-standardised for view where I have not applied the appropriate field formatting. Agggh, what a mess. Thanks for your assistance with the above mentioned. -- ((WT-en) felix 12:00, 28 July 2011 (EDT) not working today) (WT-en) felix
Well done Felix. I have Alpha-ordered the Eat and Sleep sections. It now really needs someone who knows the town well to categorise the huge number of eat listings by price. I have left an hidden edit note to that effect. The article looks immeasurably better I think. Thanks again.--(WT-en) Burmesedays 12:07, 28 July 2011 (EDT)
I hope someone can go through that and sort out the pricing, it does look a bit better now, hope someone does not see fit to revert it all again. cheers. -- (WT-en) felix 12:00, 28 July 2011 (EDT)

Any news of the SVG map of Guyana?[edit]

Hi Burmesedays, Sorry to bother you again but have you found the SVG version for the map of Guyana and could you upload it? I've almost finished the French translation for all other countries in South America. Thanks a lot! (WT-en) Joelf 03:17, 9 August 2011 (EDT)

Well done for reminding me! I had forgotten. Have now uploaded at shared so please go ahead. --(WT-en) Burmesedays 09:34, 9 August 2011 (EDT)

Brazil maps[edit]

Hi there! Thanks for your offer to update those Brazil state maps! The maps in questions are:

The svg files should have the language layers in there in a relatively ordinary way so you can find them. I don't think you need to change any text for this update, but I do believe that the en: and pt: map titles are in separate layers.

Anyway, thanks again for volunteering. I wish I knew how to get my Inkscape running well again. At the beginning of the year I was on a really big kick to get all of Brazil's states and regions maps created, but at some point Inkscape started crashing all the time, and it just got too frustrating... So glad to see others taking an interest! (WT-en) texugo 03:38, 10 August 2011 (EDT)

Oh, I missed one--
It appears that I hadn't gotten around to adding highways to that one too... (WT-en) texugo 12:40, 12 August 2011 (EDT)
I will get onto these soon. At the moment having a little difficulty deciphering the layers which seem to be the same traces stacked on top of each other. That will definitely be causing the rather heavy looking stroke outlines. Watch this space :). --(WT-en) Burmesedays 00:43, 14 August 2011 (EDT)

Hah! That's great and many thanks Globe-trotter for recognising the map. If I revealed Mr Ghadaffi's location, I would just have to shoot you all. It's on a need-to-know basis :). --(WT-en) Burmesedays 23:21, 24 August 2011 (EDT)

full stop instead of comma[edit]

Hi, I agonised over that edit for a bit then changed them as it seems consistent with the style established if the <listing> formatting is introduced into a section. This frequently happens in either the Do or the See section of many articles. There are none there now in the Borobudur article but if one is added later then we get a mixed style. This happens a lot in other articles, hence I applied that formatting that part of the Borobudur article. I did not overlook it earlier, rather I hesitated as sometimes it can appear more like a grammatical error than a styling theme. What do you think about that...should it be left with the full stop as there is currently no <listing> formatting in that section or should it be globally standardised. I find a lot of the WT formatting style clashes with my own notions of good typographical style. I think one of my pet hates is AM/PM formatting and it looks even more horrible when it is mixed up with am/pm and 24 hr formatting in the same article. I am glad at least that is now somewhat resolved. In regard to the . -, issue Borobudur may be less likely to get a mix of listings in the Do and See sections but many articles do and it looks really messy unless the attractions/listings without <listing> formatting are change to a comma as I did in that edit. As with many WT style issues I tend to think it is best to at least standardise globally, even if sometimes it looks a bit odd, as it did with those metre-feet conversions. -- (WT-en) felix 12:39, 27 August 2011 (EDT)

I would leave them with a full stop. The opening phrase is like a heading. Whichever, it can't be a comma followed by a capital letter. That is just plain wrong. I could just about live with the heading phrase, then an emdash followed by a lower case letter, but even that is dubious. Those are not listings in any way, they are bulleted prose. The options are:
  • The birth of Buddha or Lalitavistara. Before the story starts, there are 27 panels showing preparations for the final earthly incarnation. The story then begins with the descent of the Lord Buddha from heaven, and continues until his first earthly sermon as Prince Siddhartha.

Hi Burmesedays, could I please ask for a second opinion on what more needs doing to this article to upgrade it to guide status? Many thanks, --(WT-en) SaxonWarrior 15:56, 5 September 2011 (EDT)

Thanks for your help - I'll look into that. --(WT-en) SaxonWarrior 02:19, 6 September 2011 (EDT)

Banyuwangi[edit]

Thank you for keeping an eye on Banyuwangi; it looks like you're doing a good job keeping up with the edits. Rarely have I seen such volume on my watchlist. (WT-en) LtPowers 10:25, 7 September 2011 (EDT)

Thanks. Yes, certainly a lot of activity there. I know that area of Java well, and the editor causing the angst clearly does as well. It is just that the edits are mostly inappropriate. --(WT-en) burmesedays 20:12, 7 September 2011 (EDT)

DotM archives[edit]

Hi, Burmesedays. You seem to have deleted a couple of DotM nominations because they'd been accepted, but I don't think you added them to the Destination of the Month candidates/Archive. (Plus, Tongren isn't featured until next week, so I think it should have stayed for now.) (WT-en) LtPowers 08:45, 9 September 2011 (EDT)

Ah. Had no idea there was an archive! Thanks for that and I will put right. --(WT-en) burmesedays 09:08, 9 September 2011 (EDT)

Kuta (Lombok)[edit]

Hi I just patrolled one of your edits at Kuta (Lombok)

Bit surprised to see the [Mark as patrolled] link there. I assume there is some errant WT fault occurring and you know better how to deal with that than I do. I patrolled it so the link has no doubt gone now. BTY great to see all the continuing article development and refining you have been doing lately. Cheers. -- (WT-en) felix 01:12, 22 September 2011 (EDT)

Hey thanks for fixing the grammar in the Borobodur edit, I think I was half asleep and left in some cut and paste artifacts, that is the best story anyway I can come up with anyway... --

Dalat city[edit]

Greetings, Burmesedays! Can you please take a look at the history of the Dalat city page and let me know if the behaviour of the user User:(WT-en) Dalatcitytours warrants any action be taken against them? I have previously left warnings on their discussion page asking them not to remove content that refers to their competitors. Thank you! Hi Burmesedays, what do you think about Lovina and the contact details? Also do you think if listed it should be as a single listing for the two properties, or separate as the provider first listed. I do note they use a different email address for each, no doubt to overcome the ...I want to rent your villa...but which one problem. I determined the third and unrelated one, is closed, as detailed on the talk page. Cheers--(WT-en) felix 19:49, 30 October 2011 (EDT)

File:Barbados region map.png[edit]

Hello Burmesedays

re File:Barbados region map.png used in Diving in Barbados/Cobblers Reef [5]

I need your permission to create a diving version by adding South Point, Silver Rock, Inch Marlowe, Long Beach, Salt Cave Point, Green Point, Foul Bay, Sam Lords Castle, Long Bay, Cave Bay, Bottom Bay, Palmetto Bay, Kitridge Point, Ragged Point, Consett Bay

I would then have to link your version in the document to the new map which would be based on your full size map. I might crop to the Eastern portion of the Island for the diving version. all credit to you and every formal permissio needed to Upload to Wikivoyage. Best wishes Johnmartindavies 12:05, 5 March 2013 (UTC)

Hello Burmesedays,

there is a spelling error on this map. The port of Santiago is not called "Valpairiso" but "Valparaiso"
