thanks for correcting the name of the region. However please note that such a move also requires change to the isPartOf parameter of the city pages in that region. Also some of the cities listed in the region are also listed in Northeastern Switzerland and Zurich (region). I recommend a discussion at Talk:Switzerland about definition of regions. --Traveler100 (talk) 07:13, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Traveler100: Thanks for the info! Though I'm a Wikipedian since 2004, I'm not that familiar with Wikivoyage (more an occasional reader... at least until now :-) ) and appreciate any help. I was not aware of the isPartOf parameter. A discussion about definition of regions in Switzerland might indeed be in order, as some of them overlap and there are different established definitions. E.g. in geology, the Swiss Plateau (Mittelland) reaches from Geneva to Lake Constance, see the yellow area in this map. However, people in Switzerland don't usually think of Geneva when they talk about the Mittelland; in German-speaking Switzerland, the French-speaking part is rather called the Romandie entirely (another article not existing here as yet). Then, there are the six regions defined by the Federal Statistical Office and which serve as NUTS-2 equivalents - the problem with these is that they are purely statistical and that in them regions are lumped together that aren't treated as belonging together in real life. For example, the region Northwestern Switzerland encompasses the cantons of Basel-Stadt, Basel-Landschaft and Aargau; in general usage, Aargau is not treated as part of Northwestern Switzerland, but the parts of the canton of Solothurn north of the first Jura chain are. And so on... it's complicated. I will try to get a better overview of what we have here already, what could or should be changed, and present it at Talk:Switzerland. Someone with knowledge of the area is most welcome. Main point to remember compared to Wikipedia is that Wikivoyage does not always follow the administrative regions of a country. Have to think what makes sense to a visitor to the area. --Traveler100 (talk) 17:15, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
