[edit]Hello, Haylad! Welcome to Wikivoyage.
To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. New users are also welcome to post any questions or concerns to the arrivals lounge. If you want some practice editing, please do so on our graffiti wall. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here. If you want to contribute with information about the place where you live, see Wikivoyage:Welcome, locals.
Thanks very much for editing the Nigeria article, and please stick around and improve Wikivoyage's coverage of Nigeria! I'm sorry, though, because I had to revert your addition of more cities in Nigeria#Cities. On Wikivoyage, there is a guideline covered at 7+2 that the "Cities" and "Other destinations" sections of country articles and articles about regions that are subdivided into smaller regions on this site can have no more than 9 entries. So no more than 9 cities should be listed in that section.
If you believe any of the 9 cities should be substituted for, though, please make a proposal at Talk:Nigeria, giving your reasons, and we'll have a discussion and try to come to an agreement before more action may be taken.
Let me know if you have any questions, and Happy Editing!
All the best,
Ikan Kekek (talk) 20:46, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks Ikan Kekek, I will be reading through the pages and I do promise to stick around. Where do you suggest I read more about tenets such as the 7+2? Haylad (talk) 20:56, 29 March 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry for missing this and not replying for this long. You can poke around the links at Wikivoyage:Manual of style. Another one that's worth looking at is the don't tout page. I feel safe in saying that no-one thinks your purpose here is to tout, but there are guidelines there that are nevertheless relevant, and you wouldn't automatically know about them. Have a look at these edits to get some feel for the "just the facts" style that's usually the default for "Sleep" listings. I don't mean to say that what I say goes, though, so feel free to edit these listings further, and thanks for adding them, which is the most important thing! - Thanks for replying Ikan Kekek, will find time to read through and contribute more.Haylad (talk) 21:10, 18 April 2021 (UTC)

Hi Haylad, I see that you are adding more red links to this article. It would be amazing if you are going to create all of these articles. If you are not, though, I don't think adding all of these places to the map really helps readers. The map is getting very crowded now. I think the map is more useful as a way of showing the places we have articles for. Google Maps has better maps showing every place in region. I have tried to add content to our existing Nigeria articles using text from Wikipedia, but even Wikipedia 's coverage of Nigeria is limited. These articles would really benefit from having more content written by Nigerians. Regards, Ground Zero (talk) 10:40, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Ground Zero, Timmylegend and I will be working on these articles in some days time. Also, We have a Nigeria Expedition Contest coming up, so many more Nigerians will be contributing. I am certain all of these articles will be created and many more Nigerian articles will be improved.

Expedition
[edit]A new "expedition" has been created to support the fantastic work of the Nigerian team. Please see Wikivoyage:Nigeria Expedition.
I must admit to you that I am surprised at how much your team has achieved. Often we have new editors join who plan to do big projects. They do a bunch of preparatory work, then lose interest. (When I joined, I proposed changing how we show currency conversions in country articles, and I found little support because experienced editors thought I was just an excited newbie.) But your team has really delivered. Well done. Ground Zero (talk) 02:55, 20 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Ground Zero:, Thanks for your kind words, my team appreciates this and we plan to improve wikivoyage. Thanks again.Haylad (talk) 10:17, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
Page banners
[edit]Hello again, Haylad. I saw that you changed the banner for South West Nigeria. Page banners must be in the dimensions 7:1. I have cropped the picture for you. Do you still prefer this to the previous banner? If not, you can change it back to the old banner. Best regards, Ground Zero (talk) 15:07, 27 January 2024 (UTC)
Hi @Ground Zero:, It is so good to hear from you again, Is there a particular tool used in cropping of the picture? Also, I prefer this new banner to the old one. Haylad (talk) 15:22, 27 January 2024 (UTC)
CropTool is pretty easy to use. There are instructions on how to create page banners at wv:banners. Ground Zero (talk) 15:57, 27 January 2024 (UTC)
Hi @Ground Zero:, This is noted. Thank you. Haylad (talk) 17:33, 27 January 2024 (UTC)
