Hello, Josh Rayver! Welcome to Wikivoyage.

To help get you started contributing, we've created a tips for new contributors page, full of helpful links about policies and guidelines and style, as well as some important information on copyleft and basic stuff like how to edit a page. If you need help, check out Help, or post a message in the travellers' pub. New users are also welcome to post any questions or concerns to the arrivals lounge. If you are familiar with Wikipedia, take a look over some of the differences here.

Thanks for improving the Bikol phrasebook. --Ypsilon (talk) 15:30, 28 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

About the Bikol phrasebook: I solicit your participation in the Travellers' pub#Bikol phrasebook thread. The gist is that some of us think that many of the expressions you're adding are not the kinds of basic expressions a short-term visitor would normally need to know. Josh, please rethink what you're putting in that phrasebook. For example, do travelers really need to know the word for a cock's comb? Phrasebooks on Wikivoyage are oriented toward short-term travelers who need to know the basics. I was fluent in Malay while living there for 2 years of my childhood and actually raised a rooster there, and I don't recall the Malay word for a cock's comb, off-hand. I don't think that matters. I can look that up in an online dictionary if need be. Knowing the word for "chicken" is much more useful. Ikan Kekek (talk) 07:50, 15 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
